Posted at 27/3/2024 17:23 by philanderer Portfolio +0.51% ...... top gainers BAG (results yesterday) , SBRY (broker upgrade), ABF and AZN ......fallers SMIN (results yesterday) , BP and SHEL with the oil price.Rain never arrived but threatened , due through the night now , very breezy 12C . Sainsbury's this morning very busy. Like christmas with the vegetable offers. 2KG bag spuds, bags of carrots, parsnips, swede and cabbages all 15p . Found two boxes of casserole cubed beef with yellow stickers under £4 as well. Did some garden digging this afternoon and went for a local walk , deserted. Sirfry chicken in the wok tonight, crunchy veg, noodles and oyster sauce and a bottle of Pinotage. |
Posted at 26/3/2024 17:04 by blueliner +0.11% folio blue. [FTSE All-Share +0.28%]PHNX +2.2%, SUP +5.2%, BA., INVP, leading gainers. BHP, RIO, ENSI, CLIG, worst fallers. Some metal prices down. 13C partly cloudy. |
Posted at 19/3/2024 08:03 by aleman Good morning. Grey and drizzley but very mild. That headcold went onto my chest. I'm now coughing up loads but actual don't feel too bad, probably thanks to the warmer weather. It feels like it will shift quickly.Advice always was that DEC was complex and not to buy heavy. I can't even guess where the price will end up. Will it end up on a 10% or 20% yield at the close of play? Normal practice is to push a dividend cut back to its previous yield so that could be a hefty fall of 50%+. The gas price is low though. I think the market has to allow for the fact it could very easily rise again from here. It probably won't, though. |
Posted at 19/2/2024 16:48 by aleman Up next to nothing.Very quiet on roads to SBRY and quiet in store. Doesn't seem to be as many offers but still som einflated prices. Why have some products not come back down in price after food commodities have fallen all the way back? The offers are back to where they should be. Non-offers probably are not. The list price totalled 13% higher than my Nectar payment. Still rarely paying £100, though, so can't be that much higher. A sunny day after ovenight rain. It did not dry up enough to cut the grass. Our plum has blossomed today. Our daffs are starting to yellow. 14.2C after 6.0C. |
Posted at 13/2/2024 11:06 by aleman Good morning. Late start today. Floor more dry than wet for a change. No sun yet. These new experimental employment numbers look to be churning out garbage. The big rise in unemployment and small fall in long term sick is now a small rise in unemployment and a big rise in long term sick. Which is it? And they look worse if you dig: There are 393k/+0.7% more people aged 16+ than a year ago yet the total hours they worked was completely unchanged at +0.0m/+0.0% hours. UK employed -312k/-1.2%. Non-UK employed +405k/+6.3% of which EU -15k/-0.7%. Inactive +120k/+1.3%. Long term sick +217k/+8.4%. Inactive wanting job +73k/+4.1%. Average energy price compared to last year: System Average Price (SAP) of gas In the week to 4 February 2024, the System Average Price (SAP) of gas increased by 4% when compared with the previous week. However, this was 52% lower than the equivalent week of 2023. Our accompanying System Average Price of gas dataset is available. System Price of electricity In the week to 4 February 2024, the System Price of electricity decreased by 8% when compared with the previous week and was 62% lower than the equivalent week of 2023. I'm getting fed up with this bug. That two week sniffle turned into a burning sinus infection at night on Friday. It's not inhibiting as yet but my chest is starting to feel a bit sore this morning. I've only just rid of the lesser aftereffects of Covid. We need better weather! |
Posted at 04/2/2024 20:19 by wllmherk VOD results tomorrow, says a lot that I tend to read them behind my fingers, can't remember the last time they issued results and the share price rose. Going to get a lot colder this week, wllm :) |
Posted at 25/1/2024 21:27 by kiwi2007 UK domestic banks seem to be Quasi-Government agencies these days. No wonder their share prices are so low.Still, a 13Bn boost to the economy just prior to an election is a decent sized rabbit for Hunt to pull out of the hat. |
Posted at 16/1/2024 12:36 by gateside Thanks for the share suggestions of those companies in the Financial Sector.Held both HSBA & AV. for ages, but sold out before Covid and reinvested elsewhere. Briefly held PHNX - but didn't time my buys and sells that well, on that one! CSN is another one I like, share price never seems to do much, but has a nice 8% yield. |
Posted at 14/12/2023 16:43 by blueliner +0.85% folio, [FTSE All-Share+1.49%]BHP, PHNX, INVP, BRWM, RIO, leading gainers. Taking the shine off my figures was ENSI -16.1% with a unexpected fundraise at 40p, not too dilutive and they have a strong potential sales pipeline to back it. So Took a small top up at 37p which is half the share price I initially paid last March. BA. worst fallers. Bailey's opened his mouth again I see. |
Posted at 06/12/2023 18:43 by blueliner +0.50% folio, [FTSE All-Share +0.43%]Out all day so missed the BATS news, on my watch list but not a holder, as have my hands full with SUP -9.5%. Agree banning disposables. ENSI -7.3% a mystery faller. WDS continues to fall, is there a more informed Aussie investor forum than Hot Copper BT.A +4.9%, BHP, PLUS, LGEN, MNG, PHNX, leading gainers. Agree Mr P the SCLP open offer price does not entice me @11p, anything lower I suppose would unnerve the share price A cold day, heating up to compensate. Weather warning for tomorrow, more floods possible. Max 4C from 1c, which I doubt as dog walking this morning was fraught with avoiding slipping over, the dog was ok though. |
