Unfortunately the MAGP RNS's only ever told part of the story. They only gave the initial flow rates of a well. So if a well flowed, initially, at 500bopd and MAGP had a 1% stake in that well then MAGP's share was 5bopd. That was enough to get the believers on the lse bb salivating that the well costs would be recovered in less than 6 months and after that it was 5bopd pure profit for MAGP. However the decline rate for these wells is staggeringly high. The initial 500bopd flow rate could quickly decline and in 6 months time it could be as low as 50bopd and MAGP's share could be down to 0.5bopd. Even with similar small percentage stakes in lots of wells MAGP could never generate enough revenue to cover the CEO's exhorbantly high salary & expenses, plus those of her family on the payroll, plus the other BoD members, advisors and AIM listing costs. This was explained many times to the deluded MAGP shareholders, but would they listen? NO, they wouldn't!

AIM should never have let MAGP list. It was just a vehicle to enrich the BoD & advisors at the expense of stupid, ignorant, PI's.

I remember, Ettienne1951, back in late 2012, when the MAGP was riding high at circa 5p that the so called "maggots" were looking forward to meeting up for a party when the MAGP share price reached 10p. They expected that target to be reached in a matter of months. However since that circa 5p high it's been downhill ever since for the MAGP share price And the maggots can't put the blame for that solely on the lower price of oil because the MAGP share price had already fallen to 1p by the time of the OPEC meeting (late 2014) that led to the big fall in the price of oil.

Taking into account the recent 100:1 consolidation that 10p party the "maggots" were keen on back in late 2012 has become the 1000p (£10) party! LOL. Since late 2012 the MAGP shares have LOST 99% of their value.

Yet the "maggots" are still living in Cloud Cuckoo Land! They talk of MAGP coming good if the oil price hits US$100 again, conveniently forgetting that the MAGP share price lost 80% of it's value, from late 2012 until late 2014, when the oil price was circa US$100. If MAGP couldn't make money back then why should it ever make money?

RW and family are on a nice little earner courtesy of the "maggots". It's hard to blame RW for taking advantage of these gullible idiots.

I noted a regular contributor on LSE has today suggested two options to lift the share price. One of those options was quote: "create a buyback to reduce the number of shares in the marketplace." unquote.

Is this poster serious? Do they know the reason for the decline in the share price? Have they read the annual report? Even the latest operations update gives a clue. It's to do with cash generation and chronic levels of indebtedness both to its lender and its creditors.

The company has never paid a dividend; it's desperate to conserve cash but an investor suggests a way to reverse the share price decline is to drain the company of even more cash and for it buy back some of its shares. Really? One former American Gand Slam tennis player of the 70's and '80's, renown for his dislike for linesmen's dubious ball out calls, might have put it differently.

The share price of MAGP had already dropped from the high of 5p achieved in Q4 2012 to circa 1p, mauricemonkey, before the price of oil dropped below US$100 per bbl in H2 2014, so I'm not being harsh.

The MAGP share price dropped to 1p in the summer of 2014. During the time it fell from 5p to 1p the price of oil was above US$100 per bbl. I think you'll find that the rapid drop in the MAGP share price during that time was due to "death spiral" financing.

Fantasy company with fantasist investors, like temmujin and the lse dreamers. Still you can't blame RW and her family. MAGP has been a nice little earner for them.

If you adjust the MAGP share price to take a/c of last years consolidation the share price has declined from a high of £5 in late 2012 to the current 4.625p. That's a loss of over 99% in just over 5 years. That's some decline! That takes some doing! Congratulations must go to RW and the BoD for that amazing performance! LOL

I remember I held shares in MAGP back in 2012. The fantasists on the lse bb were then looking forward to holding a party when the share price hit £10 (10p pre consolidation). Ah those were the days! LOL. The fantasists talked of each other as being shipmates on the good ship Magnolia! LOL. Unfortunately the good ship Magnolia sank and bacame a shipwreck whilst on a long voyage!

I hope area44 sold at today's intraday high early this morning. He would have made a tidy profit on his buy last week. MAGP is not a share to hold long term, as past experience shows. The downward trend of the MAGP share price has been going on for almost 5 years now, but there have been numerous big spikes up during that time on APPARENTLY good news that always turn out to be false dawns. Unfortunately, this could be another example of a false dawn.

Couple of 5 year log charts. Which is the worst? LOL.

Actually it's MAGP. That's lost over 98% of it's value in 5 years, whilst NTOG has lost over 94% of it's value in 5 years. LOL. The NTOG share price has performed around 3 times better than the MAGP share price over those 5 years, but BOTH have performed abysmally badly! It's a case of which dog is the worst dog. LOL.

area44. A reality check for you. At the start of 2014 the MAGP share price was 2.40p. At the end of 2014 it was just 0.80p. So the share price more than halved during 2014. It ended 2015 at 0.40p. So the share price halved during 2015. It ended 2016 at 0.095p. So the share price lost over 75% of it's value during 2016.

You need to look at the MAGP chart, area44, as FailedQS points out. You also need to take off your blinkers and face facts. For the last 4.5 years MAGP has been an absolutely disasterous investment for those silly enough to have continued to hold their MAGP shares. During almost 2 years of that time the PoO was more than double what it is now. During that time, as FailedQS points out, they NEVER made an operating profit, so what hope now with a much lower oil price? NONE!

what is going on ?? Today 08:53 Hi all, just seen the share price after a long long time and OMG what happened, will l ever see my break even 1.3p as l have over £50 k here in magp kinda concerned.. can someone tell me any up and coming good news ? are ppl just waiting this bad period out ?

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

"over £50k" in MAGP? WOW! Far, far, too much money to gamble on an such a speculative AIM minnow such as MAGP. £1k is the maximum, IMO. It can be fatal to keep averaging down. rizzy2k should have sold all his MAGP shares when the Saudi's decided to fight it out to the death with the US shale producers back in November 2014. The MAGP chart has been bearish for years, ever since it was ramped up to 5p at the end of 2012, in fact. The MAGP share price hasn't been above a falling 200 day EMA since the end of 2013. Looks like the MAGP share price is only going one way and that's down.
