"....It's my understanding from the recent Investors Chronicle article (it's not available online) that the "Capital Alternatives" product is marketed by a company by the name of Capital Alternatives Limited, which is not owned by Capital Ideas (it doesn't appear on the liquidator's report)".

Cheers for that Jak.
So it would appear that most of the useful assets/businesses have been stripped out at an earlier time. I wonder who the directors of Capital Alternatives Limited happen to be......

Have you received any annual/interim reports since CAPT delisted that gave any indication what they were up to?

Yes, I'd appreciate a copy of that IC article when you have a free moment.

egoi - That's very disturbing!

I see that the webpages are dated 2010, so either that was a last ditch revamp prior to Capital Ideas insolvency, or indicates that all the assets have been stripped out of the PLC, leaving shareholders with squat whilst all the trading businesses continue......

topvest - What post are you receiving and when, as I don't think I've had any junk mail for at least 6 months from them (although I can't remember if they have my current address, or whether what I was getting was forwarded from an old one).

Anyone know if Bedford Row PLC is linked as they appear to hold a lot of the same "turned around" (cough, splutter!) junk holdings that CAPT held?

Jak - Thanks for that. I haven't read it yet but "The Statement of Affairs shows that only 7k is expected to be realised from the disposal of assets" seems rather out of kilter with their previous valuations of their assets before CAPT delisted!!

Presumably, those disposals will be to related parties, who've already set up Newcos to get going on their next ventures.......

I'll read the document later.

Hmmm, IIRC, wasn't Haddow the main creditor here? Presumably, directors have decided to take the bits they fancy and stiff all the other shareholders in the process...

Anyone know if the seminars posted by Egoi are still going ahead? It would be good to have someone familiar with the exploits of Haddow, Moore et al present to inform any other attendees about the current status of all the companies that the presenters proudly link themselves to (I think only one of them is still trading but I could be wrong). I can't imagine Renwick's run in with the FSA will be too heavily featured in the presentations, either!

Is anyone able to upload the letter about CAPT administration here?

One thing Treacle may have been right about was the Aim listing adding value to the company/ share price. In this case alot.
Nothing has really changed with trade/ performance however the company is now valued by the market at 60 to 70 % less due going private.

If Capt was to float again in the future the valuation would be right back up there again. In this case where an Aim listing seems worthless to the company...how can it be worth so much?

that's great advice broker!!! not

Luckily I sold most of my holding when the finals come out at a small profit..Treacle had no influence at all..I just buy low and sell after finals..done it for years.

tob you must have dealt with de listing companies back in the day..will a private company's share price work out as...

1. six month ave of the share price prior to delisting

2. share price on the day prior to the delisting news.

3. final listed share price (last day of trading).

anyone in the know?

The Daily Express had a report on CAPT from Blackfriars a few days ago stating how successful the opening day had been for CAPT selling their gold bars. Explains the rise in share price

Should feel sorry for her financial loss then!

Share price rose today give her a little credit..got it wrong with others but called it closer than most on here today...as i recall some say the share price would go nowhere on results..good job no one took that advice.

Good on ya Treacle..I do like an under dog.

Of course if the company announce it's going bust 2moz, then I take it all back.

I think NAV will have increased to around 3 million as calculated in earlier post which is around 1.10p on the share price.

For pre-tax profits for year ending 30 April 2008:-

At Interims - £217,000

Primary Water - £240,000 + had a stake left worth around £125,000

Brit Films - £390,000

Dateline - £230,000

Worldlink - don't know how many shares they would have been able to sell for 11p so for conversative estimate purposes, will put a NIL value on this potentially worth 1 million on NAV holding.

=£1,202,000 - £200,000 (Admin expenses at high end but on Interims it was £36,000) - £100,000 (Written off investments)

=£902,000.

£902,000 - £230,000 (Chaterhouse assets inc. VAT) - £50,000 (50% stake in E2Email)

=£622,000.

On a p/e of just around 7 a pre-tax profit of around £622,000 should put the value on the share price at around 1.25p imo.

a near 10% drop in CAPT as I expected. I would exect this to continue to slide as the markets deteriorate. CAPT in one of the worst possible areas with regards to the global slowdown,so will be first to suffer.

I would expect the results to conitnue to be delayed, as I have stated many times before. I did mention the results would be held back when treacle said they were being released back in August. IMO the resulsts will be bad and cause further pressure down on the share price, hence the late release (they were meant to be out by now, so ask yourself why they would delay them?)

All in all, CAPT will come under more pressure as the global markets decline, along with anything property related. Not hard to understand that.

I would stay well away from this, you will get burnt IMO as it is very very risky!!
