Wincanton take out today shows what a low price was achieved here. I know, too late and all that and I made 70% gain, but there was more on the table.

everton448 there is no stamp duty to buy DX.

If you don't think that buying makes sense do you think that hanging on for the extra 0.507p that I missed out by selling is worthwhile?

Do Lombard Odier think that they might not get the 75% that they need and so are just selling. I sold mine for 46.9257p. OK I could have held out for the extra 0.5p but I thought that it wasn't worth the risk. If the deal doesn't complete and the share price crashes I will buy back in.

The number of "letter of intent" shares is falling rapidly:

"Therefore:

-- the total number of DX Shares which are subject to irrevocable undertakings and letters of intent received by Bidco from holders of DX Shares is 259,295,814 DX Shares, representing approximately 42.87 per cent. of the issued share capital of DX as at 12 December 2023 (being the date prior to the date of this announcement); and

-- the total number of DX Shares and CFDs which are subject to irrevocable undertakings and letters of intent received by Bidco from holders of DX shares and CFDs is 272,545,814 DX Shares and CFDs, representing approximately 45.06 per cent. of the issued share capital of DX as at 12 December 2023 (being the date prior to the date of this announcement)."

I'd personally rather sit on my shares for another couple of years as the growth will come and the share price will rise much higher than 48.5p. IMO

The share price is drifting up. It will become interesting if it gets to around 47.5p (48.5p less 1p dividend)

I agree - in the meantime there is an increasing disconnect between the share price and the value of the offer which we have been told might be made....

LSE informs us that , so far today , there have been zero DX shares sold , but 254,536 bought ( for a cumulative £ 110,480 ) . The transactions shown as ‘ buys ‘ by LSE appear to be purchases due to the price , and yet the share price is down by 0.25p . Isn’t Aim a mystery ?

Correction . Should have been “ the upside from 43.5p to HIG’s offer price of 48.5p is only 11.5p “ . Isn’t it so strange that serious investors are now buying DX , without the share price moving up appropriately ?

I think Tuffnells has been struggling a while. It was sold by Connect Group to a management team for just £15m payable over 3 years with Connect providing them with a £10.5m loan to support it's 'turnaround'. Almost giving it away.

hxxps://www.insidermedia.com/news/national/connect-group-to-sell-tuffnells-in-15m-deal

Not sure what would be better, to acquire them or let them go bust. Turnover was £178m in y/e Dec 2021. In their holding company accounts they noted an expected loss for 2022, that the directors have instituted a profit recovery plan and expect to return to profit in 2023. The best intentions...

£178m would be a lot to take on, even for DX. with £450m of turnover but would be a quantum leap in size. I guess they could gradually transfer it into their existing network. If they could make the same margin (~15%), then it could double DX.'s profits. That would certainly do something for the share price.

All speculation though...
