(Adds further detail)
LONDON (Thomson Financial) - EiRx Therapeutics PLC said it is closing its
Aberdeen facility this month and relocating the operations of its Auvation unit
to Cork, as part of efforts to streamline its organisation and focus expenditure
on critical activities.
The drug discovery company said the activities affected include the cancer
biomarker effort undertaken in collaboration with BioMerieux SA, but that the
ACCRI-BANK tissue specimen collection will remain housed within the University
of Aberdeen Medical School and its access to this resource will remain
unchanged.
The company also noted the restoration of trading in its shares on AIM
today, adding that the suspension affected neither its business nor the funding
package for drug development announced on Feb 19.
Shares in EiRx were suspended on Feb 27 after the London Stock Exchange
received notification that some of the trades executed in the company's shares
may have been incorrect.
