LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Braemore Resources Plc. said it has started the
final-stage atmospheric leach testing at Leinster Nickel Sulphide Tailings
Project in Australia.
The company said the plant has been modified to enable Outotec technology to
be operated in conjunction with Atomaer technology. Those modifications coupled
with laboratory availability have caused slight delays in commencing the final
testwork programme, it added.
The nickel and platinum group metals producer said acid recovery and
recycling test work via sulphur recovery is being undertaken in South Africa,
and is also expected to be completed in the next few months and the results are
expected to have important implications for the capital and operating costs of
the project.
SNC Lavalin Perth has been engaged as independent engineers to prepare the
test report for submission to BHP Billiton under its Tailings supply agreement
with Braemore and the test report is expected at the end of July, it added.
