BOSTON (Thomson Financial) - A. Schulman Inc. said Friday it plans to
implement price increases of up to 10% for products of its Masterbatch division
and up to 20% for its engineered plastics division, effective August 1.
The price increases are in addition to the increases of up to 20% for both
divisions that were announced on June 13.
A. Schulman, an Akron, Ohio-based plastic resin distributor, said the
actions are meant to help offset rapidly rising raw material, energy,
transportation and supplier costs in its North American businesses.
The company also said it will increase the prices in its distribution
division by up to 10%.
A. Schulman shares closed Thursday at $22.57.
