NEW YORK (Thomson Financial) - A.C. Moore Arts & Crafts Inc. Wednesday said
fourth-quarter same-store sales were down 14.5% while total sales fell 10.4% to
$177.3 million.
The mean estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Financial was for total
sales of $200.9 million.
The company said sales fell on softness in its seasonal and children's
categories. It also said that it had implemented a perpetual inventory plan that
it believed would assist in controlling inventory and reducing out-of-stocks.
Shares of A.C. Moore, a Berlin, N.J.-based arts and crafts retailer, closed
Tuesday at $12.24.
