BOARD CHANGES
Thorntons PLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Keith Edelman as an independent Non-Executive Director with effect from 21 February 2012.
Keith is currently Non-Executive Chairman at the retailing group Beale plc, Senior Independent Director at the UK branded fashion retailer Supergroup plc and a Non-Executive Director of Safestore Holdings plc (self-storage), all of which are listed on the London Stock Exchange. He is also a Non-Executive Director of the Olympic Park Legacy Company.
Keith was formerly Managing Director at Arsenal Holdings (2000-2009), Group Chief Executive at Storehouse Group (Bhs /Mothercare) (1993-1999) and has held senior executive roles at Carlton Communications, Ladbroke Group and Grand Metropolitan. Previous Non-Executive appointments include Glenmorangie and Eurotunnel.

Keith Edelman was a Director of Metro Racing Limited which was dissolved in October 2010 following a solvent members' voluntary liquidation and was formerly a Non-Executive Director of Qualceram Shires plc when it went into liquidation on 9 July 2009. There are no other matters requiring disclosure under Listing Rule 9.6.13.
Further to the Company's announcement of 12 January 2012, the Company reports under listing rule 9.6.13 that Michael Killick, who becomes Finance Director on 17 February was a director until 31 March 2011 of The Peacock Group PLC and its group companies within 12 months of it entering into administration on 19 January 2012.
