("Sports Direct" or the "Company")
Issue of Equity Update
Further to the Company's announcement on 23 January 2012, Sports Direct announces that it has withdrawn its application for 30,000,000 ordinary shares of 10 pence each in the capital of the Company to be admitted to the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and to the London Stock Exchange by way of a block listing.
The 30,000,000 ordinary shares were to be issued pursuant to the Sports Direct Employee Bonus Share Scheme 2009.
The Company confirms that the shares required to satisfy awards under the above scheme have instead been transferred from Treasury.
As per the announcement on 24 January 2012, the total number of ordinary shares in issue (excluding ordinary shares held in Treasury) is 598,602,369.
