ANNOUNCEMENT ON POWER GENERATION
FOR THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2010

The board of directors (the "Board") and all directors (the "Directors") of the
Company warrant that there are no false representations and misleading
statements contained in, or material omissions from this announcement, and
severally and jointly accept the responsibility for the truthfulness, accuracy
and completeness of the contents of this announcement.
This announcement is made pursuant to Rule 13.09(2) of the Rules Governing the
Listing of Securities on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.
Datang International Power Generation Co., Ltd. (the "Company") announces that,
based on the Company's preliminary statistics, as of 31 March 2010, the total
power generation of the Company and its subsidiaries (the "Group") amounted to
36.9060 billion kWh, representing an increase of 32.67% when compared to the
corresponding period of the previous year. The Group's total on-grid power
generation was 34.6595 billion kWh, representing an increase of 32.65% when
compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
Total power generation of the Group for the first quarter of 2010 increased
significantly as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year
mainly owing to benefitting from the following: 1) an increase in capacity of
operational generating units, especially contributions from newly added
coal-fired power generation units at Jiangsu Datang International Lvsigang
Power Generation Company Limited and Ningxia Datang International Daba Power
Generation Company Limited as well as the wind power generation units in Inner
Mongolia, Liaoning and Shanxi regions,; 2) an increase in average utilisation
hours of the Group's coal-fired power generation units for the first quarter of
2010 as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
