Board Change, Operational Update
Host Europe PLC is one of Europe's leading Internet hosting providers to the
SME market.
Host Europe is pleased to announce that Tim Beresford, currently Services
Director of Host Europe, is to be appointed Chief Technology Officer. Prior to
taking up the role of Services Director, Tim was responsible for setting up
and operating the group's first major data centre facility in Nottingham and
for establishing the Company as Europe's leading host of Cobalt servers to the
SME market.
Raj Muthusamy, who joined the Company in October 2000, resigns from the Board
with effect from 17 August 2001, and will be taking up a position in the
investment banking sector in the City of London.
Host Europe has continued to achieve strong growth over the first six months
of 2001. As at the end of June, Host Europe managed over 190,000 domain names
compared to 76,000 at the end of December 2000. The number of shared server
hosting accounts totalled 51,000 compared to 31,000 in December and the number
of dedicated and co-located servers hosted by the Group increased to 2,300
from 1,200. Furthermore, Host Europe now boasts over 31,000 customers compared
to 18,000 at year end.
Abby Hardoon, Chief Executive of Host Europe, said:

solid technical infrastructure in the UK and, on behalf of the Board, I would
like to wish him all the best for the future. Our infrastructure is now well
established and capable of meeting the continuing demand for dedicated and
co-located servers.
Tim will drive forward the group's technical direction as CTO within a leaner
management team as we continue on our path to profitability, and will be
instrumental in replicating our technology platform in Germany where demand
for dedicated servers is growing rapidly. Host Europe is now well positioned
for its next stage of growth."
