WARSAW--Russian natural gas deliveries to Poland on Wednesday again fell short of the levels contracted by the Polish gas company Polskie Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (PGN.WA), the company said Thursday.

PGNiG said gas flows were 45% below contracted levels, which were set well within the limit specified in the agreement with Russian gas company OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS). It said on Wednesday that deliveries were between 20% and 24% below ordered levels on Monday and Tuesday.

Lower deliveries from Russia forced PGNiG to Poland to start gas deliveries through the Mallnow pumping station on the Poland-Germany border.

To meet its domestic gas needs Poland Wednesday stopped sending gas to Ukraine.
