The suicide of a Deloitte LLP New York accountant, Daniel Pirron, 57, was unrelated to work for Standard Chartered PLC (SNTDF), the company said in a statement reported Sunday on the Reuters news agency website.
"Dan was a highly respected member of our office of general counsel who made many contributions to our firm. However, Dan was not involved in any way on our work for Standard Chartered Bank. Our thoughts are with his family at this very difficult time," the company said in the report.
