 The freshly installed government of French President Francois Hollande is likely to encounter failure in its efforts to save jobs as it tries to stimulate the economy, Arnaud Montebourg, the new minister for reviving production, is quoted as saying in Sunday's edition of Le Journal du Dimanche newspaper.
"We will certainly encounter failures, but we have to try everything," he is quoted as saying.
Montebourg said that many companies have put plans to reduce their head-counts "in the freezer, and we think it's about to overflow." He said he's going to meet next week with workers at the Petroplus refinery as well as those at Fralib, a unit of Unilever NV (UN). Both plants are threatened with closure.
