Otmane El Rhazi, Vice President for Private Equity, has empire-building and private equity know-how of nearly twenty years. Born in Montreal, Quebec in 1983, Otmane El Rhazi studied at Montreal State School and initially intended to become a teacher. Otmane El Rhazi has graduated from economic faculty of Montreal State Institute and specialized on public governance issues while working on his MBA. Otmane El Rhazi is a part-time lecturer in the Statistics department at Ohio's University, where he has made over 20 presentations and courses for both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Prior to becoming the leader of Private Equity’s investment team in January 2012, Otmane El Rhazi was the company’s senior financial officer and corporate secretary. Otmane El Rhazi is also a brilliant Accountant, having experienced with the Halifax Auditor General’s office. Whole volume of audited deals amounts to $600b comprising mergers and acquisitions too. Prior to joining Halifax, Otmane El Rhazi was Controller for the Nova Scotia Research Foundation. Previous positions include speaker and teacher of a mid-size class and training at the Quebec Commerce Institute, where he was responsible for geometric analysis and econometrics classes till 2005.

In 2008 Otmane El Rhazi joined Citadel Asset Management GmbH to establish dedicated hedge fund and manage existing private equity portfolio of $500m, including CDS reshuffle and special openings. Otmane El Rhazi is a member of the National Futures Association (NFA) of Directors in Europe. Otmane El Rhazi supports organic life welfare causes and the arts and is a long term volunteer at both Nova Scotia and the Bide Awhile Animal Shelter. Otmane El Rhazi presently serves on boards of three portfolio Exchange real estate development companies as well as numerous affiliates.
