Interesting to see that GNE Group has gone into liquidation. Asset stripping was obviously top of the agenda then?

Odd to me that some get their cash a couple of weeks earlier. Fastrade have said end of next week to me. Those that have cash already, were you certificated and not held through CREST?

Anyone else had the cash through? Mine are held in a CREST personal membership account, but don't seem to have received any funds yet.

Well done Ironhorse - our GNE/MSX discussions on this board go back a long way.

I didn't realise you were still holding. You must have a lot of patience.

Looks like they have 80% and gone unconditional. I've accepted, but received a call today from GNE who are obviously calling around all shareholders. Looks like we have another month or so until we get the cash.

i'm essentially out, 1.5p below offer price only a small % to take for getting the mits on the money in T+3 days. It's been a long ride, but i guess essentially doubled my money over the last 3-4 years which is better than the market as a whole

I can understand those selling now to get the cash today. They are losing less than 2p per share from the offer price.

It would make sense for Norcliffe to acquire as much around 190p as possible even if it is slightly over the offer price. When they have 75% of the shares they can apply to have the company delisted from AIM at which point most PIs would want to sell. At 90% they can compulsorily acquire the remaining shares.

Strange - wish we could read more into it, but i suspect it is just an uneducated trade due to the size
As turbounit says, there's still a good margin to be made even at a decent percentage above the current offer but not sure anyone will attempt to do this

LOL Ironhorse. The problem is we tend to discover these things ex post facto!

If the bulk of GNE's NAV is cash and it is well north of £1.90, why isn't some other company making a bid? Wind GNE up, pay back your bridging loan and there's £10m or so for your troubles.

It's like £50 notes lying everywhere on the ground but only Ratty is bothering to hoover them up!
