Thanks, Tilton. That is the surely best approach. I sometimes wish that dogs like this were just put down and buried once it's apparent that management haven't a clue, so we can just write them off without any further glimmer of interest. But while there is no death, we keep thinking there might be a chance of resuscitation, I suppose.
