It has been rather drawn out but if we had the money earlier we most likely would have invested in a market that is falling several months ago.

Seems like we should finally get paid. What a drawn out thing this has been. Need the cash right now.

Have they done enough to reassure HMG? Market seems to think so.

Decided to place a stop under the range post offer so got stopped out a short while ago. Didn't want to keep hanging on if price wanted to drift as market clearly remains unconvinced it's happening by the large discount. Good luck to those that hold out and hope the offer comes good. Bizarrely at the moment i got stopped out then recd notification that one of my other holdings (VEC) has had a higher bid lol. Swings and roundabouts!

Boris got caned for letting Cobham go, I can't see ULE going as easily. I've been in since 1270p so the cash offer looks tempting but I'll lose another of my quality companies.

dendria - answer to your question -A very big YES- USA would abandon UK if their politicians thought it was of benefit to them -
Remember lap-dog UK has agreed to the extradition of Lynch but the US refuse to allow the extradition of the road death killer of Harry Dunn – our diplomats leant over and allowed themselves to be rogered. No quid pro quo. Look at how many UK companies taken over by US vulture funds have been hollowed out, in spite of their worthless "promises" to invest in the UK.

It's bound to be reviewed under the National Security and Investment Bill but would it really threaten national security if it's to be US-owned?

Congrats to all holders, congrats to anyone who bought in after the company entered the regulatory phase. LSE investors are morons who can look a gift horse in the mouth. Aside from anything the H1 results and prognosis were a good enough reason to take a holding.

That's a nice start to the day and at a healthy premium. Anyone familiar with the sector to know if others might be interested in bidding. Going to chew on this one as might be tempted to take the cash sooner than I would normally do in these situations
