when we were makin loads from IBG

Aleman,

IBG is now owned by GlobalData (a quoted company). Do you know by how much a holding in IBG shares has increased in value since the takeover? I received a nice GlobalData dividend cheque on 3rd June.

There's a GlobalData discussion board if you wish to move the discussion there.

The big question is whether to put any more eggs in my bulging AGL basket. Hmmm

a net effective yield of about 5%

Someone has done even better.

I currently hold Just Car Clinics ( JCR.L ). The shares were listed in London and I bought in on the delisting announcement when the share price tanked. They are basically a panel beater which I picked up at around 2.2X 5 year average PTP.

I've held them or nearly a year. There's a matched bargain system in place but I prefer to keep holding the shares and receive my near 12% annual divi. :O)

The dividends have been a pleasant surprise every year (a net effective yield of about 5%). I will miss them.

FBT is still as unpredictable as ever. More ideas and potential than revenues. So very different from JCR!

Ah ... lrr, you are a blast from the past. I don't think I've seen a post from you since the good old days when I worked for a living! I hope you are keeping well and am glad to hear you have benefitted from the NARS/Carlyle Group takeover. I see you're still as keen on FBT as when we were makin loads from IBG. Good luck with that.

Anyone still here?

Finally got round to opening my mail. Great news after a long sleep. I paid 22.5p for my shares.

Well, I took 45p which was a decent profit on by 3rd spell with JCR but I'm very pleased that those that stayed have done well out of it. Good luck with your reinvestments (less a celebratory drink of course).

Delighted for people here, as a one time, long term holder who missed the top but still made a tidy sum, wish you all well. You do wonder if when that 45p offer was made, they had an idea what was coming. Must admit i would have taken the 45p money if I'd still been involved! Shows what I know...

Fortunately, I hung in there because the business appeared sound enough and the previous offer seemed mean.

This compensates a little for the disasters elsewhere due to the outworkings of the banking crisis.

I wonder how many still invested know about it. It hasn;t been picked up by NARS and JCR tickers because their listings don't exist any more.

Anyone still here? 118p offer for JCC by NARS which was recently bought by Carlyle Group.

Hi. I think the market is in good shape at the moment for all the good bodyshops and although I sold all my shares in the tender I am watching for an entry into NARS. I think they are cheap and once the QPP situation gets sorted they could make some progress. Best of luck. I will watch with interest as they grow. When I spoke to them before deciding to sell all my shares I juts got no sense at all that they were looking for an exit and couldn't risk having no further chance to sell for 4/5 years.

Just a reminder for those who opted out - my cheque came on time today. JCR are now a happy memory for me - except for the capital gains tax I'll have to pay in 14 months!

Again. Good luck everyone.

I tendered all mine too. I don't think 45p really values the company's prospects all that well but I found a couple of listed companies on similar ratings and yields where I could redeploy the money without being locked in. (I spent some of our our house deposit which the JCR sale proceeds will replace.) Assuming I have had my tender accepted, I will have made a decent profit while enjoying the repectable dividends for a few years. It's the third time I've bought low and sold reasonably high with this stock so I will have some pleasant memories, including, I believe, achieving the highest ever listed sale price when I sold out intraday at 118p+ (I think it was - I can't remember any more!) in 2007.

Edit - I'm forgetting the price was a bit higher in the early noughties after listing so it was not the highest sale price, although it was still fortuitously profitable.

Good luck JCR and all who sail in her.
