05/11/2014 17:44 | I am still waiting - I had hoped the end of October | binley2
05/11/2014 09:38 | Anyone know when we should get the cash ? | pugugly
21/8/2014 08:37 | Had an early call this morning from a friend of mine who was convinced these would go, did I listen! Oh well, pleased for those who are on the right side today. | hastings
21/8/2014 07:48 | 51p offer recommended by the board. Done deal. Yippee! | mathewawood
04/7/2014 12:23 | An update on the debt position would have been nice. Presume cash flow was positive since they "met" expectations. | boonkoh
04/7/2014 08:27 | I see what Gerber means by needing to replace some board members. They certainly do not believe in giving shareholders some decent informative updates. | empirestate
27/6/2014 19:21 | The 1m came from axa...given the timing with the 1.04m trade I'm thinking that they probably went to downing plus 40k that the broker or mm had. Otherwise we are due a further sale and purchase rns. I'm not sure downing would buy for someone else since it would make them a concert party...and I can't see the why downing would want to be part of gerber's scheme...the whole point was him to get cash for his existing businesses at a higher valuation than if he sold them outright. The losers being existing shareholders of which downing is now one. | dangersimpson2
27/6/2014 15:47 | I think Gerber could be using Downing as a purchasing vehicle, after all they do specialise in various types of corporate structures | empirestate
26/6/2014 14:25 | When you get two large similar trades at the same time then they can often be the opposite sides of the same trade so it's not yet clear to me if the 1m trade was in that category or was an additional trade. Gerber had 3.3m shares so it could be him placing his shares with institutions - either way we are def due another holding RNS for the sale side. | dangersimpson2
26/6/2014 13:22 | Would be good to see the sale side info and detail of the other 1 million. | empirestate
26/6/2014 12:25 | Well looks like Downing took the 1.04m shares, not clear yet who sold but probably Gerber given how resoundingly his harebrained scheme was kicked into touch. Downing look like a good investor to have onboard: The team's investment approach intends to seek out and exploit inefficiencies within the public markets. Diligence is focused on identifying companies with sustainable competitive advantages, run by competent and honest managers at a price that provides investors with a defined margin of safety. The team is long-term focused and operates in a slow and considered manner, aiming to achieve strong long-term performance. hxxp://www.downing.c | dangersimpson2
25/6/2014 00:11 | Big trades to go through at the mid-price...suggests that the broker managed to match a keen buyer with an equally keen seller. Should be neutral for the share price. | dangersimpson2
24/6/2014 16:39 | Around 6% of stock gone through, 1m and 1.04m trades, is Gerber buying or selling, should find out next day or so. | empirestate
29/5/2014 14:48 | Yes it would be good to see the directors dig deep and buy a few. They are still cheaper than their last purchases i think. | empirestate
29/5/2014 14:28 | Excellent news, I can't see him going hostile. 9.1% is nowhere near enough and doesn't want the company just a cheap listing. would be nice to see some directors buys now all this stuff is out the way. | dangersimpson2
29/5/2014 14:10 | good news Gerber rejected, may be he will go hostile now. | empirestate
29/5/2014 13:44 | They issued a trading statement just 13 days ago! and they've never issued an agm statement before just a agm results notice so I think you are reading too much into this. Not much can change in 13 days - the main business is trading in line and we don't need another rns just to tell us that. The key to further rises is making sure Gerber doesn't get to reverse what I consider poor quality businesses with no synergies into off. | dangersimpson2
29/5/2014 12:18 | Empire state: exactly. They won't issue a statement if trading was bad. So the fact is no announcement today.... The silence gives us a clue. | boonkoh
29/5/2014 11:34 | I hope it's not red boonkoh, surely the board can't be that stupid to issue a weak statement that will depress the share price and allow Gerber an opportunity to start buying on the cheap and where he could then gain full control at a discounted price. | empirestate
29/5/2014 08:24 | No AGM statement? Doesn't look smart in the board. They should be coming out with a bullish trading statement, laying out a compelling strategy for the year. The fact that none came this morning is a big red sign for me. | boonkoh
29/5/2014 08:17 | Judgement Day. I still reckon Gerber will make an offer. 50p+ anyone. Surely Gerber must realise that he won't get support for a reverse takeover so has limited alternatives. Can't see his team getting on the board so only one option to take control really. | empirestate
28/5/2014 16:38 | Good to see some volume yesterday and today driving up the price before the AGM tomorrow. Better than high volume and dip.Even if the board fights off Gerber tomorrow, how far can the shares rerate? It was already sub 30p before the Gerber approach, and the latest IMS indicated trading only in line with expectations. | boonkoh
27/5/2014 14:53 | added a few more here today. very difficult to buy in size though. | empirestate
27/5/2014 10:03 | Nice, 75k at 25 pip premium. | empirestate
25/5/2014 20:05 | should be interesting on Thursday. Gerber and the ex chairman of Thorntons should be at the AGM. | empirestate |
