God Almighty Zoo, You still don't understand. Hence the smokescreen of irrelevances.

This is what you said:-

"If a bid comes through I would imagine it will be about 20 /25 percent of the current share price at the time"

Tutorial No.3
-------------

Company A's share price is 140p. a bid is made of "25 percent of the current SP"

What is the value of the bid?

Answer (and I'll explain in greater detail this time).

25% of 140p = (25/100)x140 = 38p.

Can you understand the difference between how we arrive at your bid of 38p and Sage's bid of 175p?

No?

I thought not.

Cheers

Two bids, who says there would be two bids? What if they decided to take the company private. Who bought Rogers shares? Why did that happen? There cound be a major earthquake rendeing the conlany useless..You know nothing, because you're guessing what may or may not happen. .Also I said the 25 percent would be at the share price at the time, not the current share price

Jockstrap, I do love winding you and your fellow disciples up. You're so gullible and stupid, it's unbelievable.Have you always been like that or do you have to practice..I know you like losing money, AAL, COPL, SHG etc. :-)).Bit of advice for you. Don't spend all day sitting in front of your PC and try not biting then I won't be tempted to wind up some stupid 79 year old idiot. .Best do as Alan says.

Yup. Night and day, that's me, Alan. Not over yet. Creaming a batch of Soft Set Honey and jarring it up for delivery tomorrow.

In between processes I have time to entertain you, so don't switch off.

And I have only one property.

My God, Zoo

You are even dimmer than I supposed earlier.

The Jockstrap has no need to attack Sage. What he said was:-

"25- 50% uplift is typical". UPLIFT, Zoo. Are you unable to understand that?

Once again I'll try to explain, but I don't hold out much hope of success.

Tutorial Example Number 2
--------------------------------------

The current GFM share price is 140p

They receive 2 bids. The first with an uplift of 25% of the current price whilst the second bid offers an uplift of 50% of the current share price

What are the two bids worth?

Answer.

Bid Number 1 is worth 140 x 1.25 = 175p
Bid Number 2 is worth 140 x 1.50 = 210p

If you would like me to explain the workings, Zoo, don't hesitate to ask.

PS to Sage

Bid No.2 would be nice!

sage I’ve spoke with my friend and however much digging he’s done and also with various people he hasn’t come up with any evidence that there even will be a bid ,he said there is no stock piling at all ,I think this price mark up will gradually drift back slowly, he has just completed buying I think his 16th property in central London his children and grandchildren live in some of them and he has the rest rented out ,the one he has bought today is in Mayfair ,I feel poor up against him ,ha ha ha ,good luck to you

It will be interesting to see if the jockstrap attacks Sage for saying 25 to 50 percent. Unfortunately the jockstrap doesn't take into account that the share price will lift on a sniff. .I imagine the BoD will keep this quiet until they have to notify that market under the rules.Jockstrap knows it all of course. As he did on SHG. :-)).Had a nice day jockstrap slagging me off with your fellow disciples. :-))

Alan, I am not sure if this helps but when a business is sold it is typically at a premium to the prevailing share price so the BOD can recommend it to shareholders. 25- 50% uplift is typical but all deals are different.

OK Phillis.

I can see the potential.

But it will have to wait till later. I'm running late. The OSR is coming out and at this time of year I'm pretty busy in the afternoons and evenings.

You don't know what the price will be when or if a bid comes through..If you had such a foresight jockstrap you would have sold when the share price was 168p. But you didn't did you. .Hence your comment on price was pointless. How do you know that a possible bidder won't go directly to the major shareholders. You don't know anything until there is an RNS..Remember when there was the accident and a contractor was killed when. Chain snapped. Yes a contractor not an employee and the share was suspended. Something happens like that again a good time for a company to make a move. Not so good for the person involved in an accident of course..From your comments on SHG you don't know very much for your 79 year old man. You're a chancer ild man. And not a vood one at that.

I sold 25000 this pm at just over 139. Nice to take a profit and lower my exposure to a stock that has in the past had low liquidity. The sale was not driven by negative sentiment. I remain overall bullish on GFM.
