EasyJet reported figures this morning and commentators on the Company’s chat sites seem very happy , especially with the new EasyJet Holidays part of the Company , which is seen as a threat to OTB , but whose success might also be taken as an indicator that OTB is doing well .

IC has an extensive article this morning covering the recovery and prospects for the travel industry, holidays obviously play a big part in that.

....There are two distinct ways to play the travel retailer area. The first is to look at companies that consumers use to book holidays. We like online beach holiday retailer On the Beach (OTB), which benefits from an asset-light and low-cost model. It has been boosted by a recent distribution deal with Ryanair, which now lets its customers access the airline's flights "with full price transparency". This has removed a significant drag on the company’s valuation, which at two times EV/Ebitda is less than a third of its historic average. On the Beach's total transaction value (TTV) of holidays sold was up 27 per cent in its latest peak booking period, helping it to a record forward order book as it focuses on volume growth.

Big demand for all inclusive holidays amid rising living costs. OTB should be a big beneficiary imo.

OTB have relatively little control of their own product. OTB like almost everyone in the sector is very nervously watching EZJ and their holidays offering.

True but it's not sychronised to perfection, that's what market makers are for and it's also what makes prices fluctuate, supply and demand.

For every buyer there has to be a seller to match the trade.

Happy to hold. Ryanair deal isn't groundbreaking but should help with market share. Profits are increasing and divi is on the horizon so I don't see any reason not to hold. If share price stays around here I will increase holding come April

When I looked at OTB last year, most of the last minute holidays were using Ryanair. I have just looked at 20 OTB holidays from various airports and none of them were using Ryanair.
I had read that Ryanair were calling online travel agents "pirates" but had not paid much attention until yesterday's announcement.
A quick search and I found "Ryanair has claimed that On The Beach is 'the number one pirate"

All well and good. Ryanair and OTB have made up and struck a deal.
But who will be the winner in this deal? Who needs who the most? Ryanair are notoriously tough negotiators. No doubt in my mind that Ryanair have got a good deal.
What is the cost to OTB. A worse deal than when they were "pirates"? No winter flights with Ryanair. If others like lastminuite.com can't do a deal then OTB may end up with an advantage.

Down it goes, it shot up yesterday with not that much of a big new.
Money is what counts. Until consistency and reliable projections of profits is demonstrated(in terms of real cash flow) any gain can be considered pure volatility.
I will be back in if we ever go back to the 100s.

THey guided on transaction value YTD and also PBT oucome for the year. So one of those is higher up than revenue, and one is closer to cash.

The PBT guidance is far better than revenue guidance!

Saves £2m a year on legal fees. Should go straight through to the bottom line.
