Of course if he’s not on the Board his remuneration isn’t disclosed….. increasingly a reason why companies don’t want to be quoted.

wouldn't have thought it any bad reason to be honest. the two brothers appear to have a good bond.

seems a steal at this price.

wonder if they will announce another share buyback?

Maybe take it at face value as the "real reason"?Maybe hes not happy with some elements and wants to sort it out. Share price reaction now maybe showing that it's a good move and that they are getting some issues under control

Why would the Chief Executive want to step down from the Board of Directors? It doesn't make sense to me. What is the real reason?

Didn't they make that adjusted forecast the day of that AGM statement, thats when it was covered on stockepedia, so it's nothing new really.
TU not even due until second half May.
Imo today is just MMs abusing the market with the ridiculous spread on such smallish volume, probably justifying it to themselves by the increased costs related to the red sea comment in the AGM.
Seems to have lumped in and whacked along with travel stocks.
The way it just plummeted quickly on a few 4 digit sells is just crazy.

That was stated as a "prudent approach". So would expect that to be "up to 9%". Coming under would be seen as a win.

According to

there's only one analyst for Shoe Zone so, as the NOMAD, that'll be Zeus Capital and they dropped their estimate to 22.4 from 24.7p. ( which is the 9.3% just mentioned)

But they made that change more than 7 days ago so it doesn't explain today's drop

Edit : Basically what fegger said.

Forecast EPS down from 24.7 to 22.4 pence. 9% reduction.

Definitely lost momentum which is disappointing.

Anyone know what they originally guided for FY24 EPS?
So we can work out exactly what that downgrade forecast earnings to be?

Taken from Zeus stockepedia
Shoe Zone’s AGM statement has said FY24E trading is expected to be marginally below previous expectations due to a higher cost environment, including elevated container prices resulting from the ongoing tensions in the Suez Canal, combined with the larger-than-envisaged 10% increase in the national living wage, effective from April. We take a prudent approach to our outlook for H2, with lower gross margin driving a 9.3% downgrade to FY24E adj. EPS.

Could be Beeks.

Post-COVID the share price growth has been stellar and, ultimately, Shoe Zone is a cyclical stock so it's always prudent to take some profits at some time, so a fund may well be doing so.

They used the phrase "marginally", so would be surprised if this was a massive issue. It's also been pretty stable and a bit "drop drip" on low volume the last few weeks, doesn't smell of something leaking. A few of my stocks behaving similarly, market is getting a bit harder in q2 so maybe it's just a fund adjusting ita risk profile.

Might just be a blip in the share price today, but it kind of looks like the city is anticipating another profit warning on top of the mini-warning we got in the AGM statement ?

We know tradibg was a bit below expectations due to higher than expected increase in the National Living Wage, an increase in container costs , higher costs associated with the property portfolio and the impact of a slower than expected end to our Autumn/Winter season, a month and more ago. Do we know what current trading is like?
