Many of the IOCs operating down South regard the Kurdish Area almost as another country - they see very few carryovers between what Baghdad decides to do about the problematic KRI "foster children" (although foisted children might be a better expression) and their own lucrative agreements.
I doubt very much that investment in Iraq by the western companies mentioned in the MOUs will be affected.
As for the US cutting off Iraq, whether financially or militarily, that's not going to happen as the US will want to continue use IR as a buffer state and the Kurds are, relatively speaking, not all that important any more; their time has come and gone.
At the end of the day the Barzani hegemony will wither, IR Federalism as we are tempted to understand it will be greatly curtailed and the KRI will be fully re-absorbed into Iraq.
The well-rewarded Kurdish Lobby in the US & UK will huff and puff, as will the honourable judges here and there, but the world is moving on; sovereign is sovereign.
It will be painful - for some, rewarding for others and of no consequence for many.

If Iraq fails to honour the IOC contracts Sudani can kiss goodbye to his international investment initiative. All his MoUs will just be worthless pieces of paper. There is a lot of pressure for Sudani to make this work, including the prevention of the break up of Iraq.

My impression for what it's worth is that they can amend it or face KRG going it alone. With the backing of the US and Turkey. My preference would be for the latter.

Amendment to the current Iraqi budget was promised upon Sudani's return from the US. The nature of these amendments is crucial for the KRG IOC contracts. Let's wait and see what transpires.

ICG are not that stupid to cut off a couple of limbs which is what they'd be doing falling out completely with the Kurds . They are having trouble with Basra as it is. The egos at ICG are going to have to make a dignified retreat imo.

We will get paid. We did it without somo. We can do it again. All via turkey imo. Straight to Europe. ICG could be completely sidelined here if they don't play ball.
