This old trick is used during demand above supply. When it switches back to supply above denand one day, or simple things like holiday pay etc, they can cut the life out of it all legally re they are not contracted to high salaries

Its all a con job anyway Fooling many people with headline salaries

And it's not just this sector ..They headline earnings like say, £50000

Then the small print will say 'up to £50000

I'd encourage anyone to call a job in any sector first and ask :

What are the minimum hours paid and hourly rate on those ?.
Suddenly it will be maybe £22000 😆

In most cases a minimum of half the headline salary will be based on above standard hours

Solutions

1.Much higher pay
because not easy work even if the following was done

2. Tractor units that are equipped well for drivers. The days of handing out sheds are over

3. Ten hours day maximum . Office workers are knackered after 8, and they do not do second by second focus required in trucks .

4. Healthy eating, services that don’t cost £500 per week

5. Gym facilities just for drivers , at all truck services .

6. Inverters in all trucks

7. Lots more to come . Even with all this, it won’t attract youth but at least not lose everyone else

A lot of companies believe these pay increases are temporary. Get to Xmas etc

They are fooling themselves

They can’t even fill most of the shortage with rates of up to £30ph now , and salaries near doubled in some geographic locations , plus bonuses for just turning up each day😂

So they are paying agency workers £25ph (prob £50ph including agency fee) - but aren't increasing wages for the in house drivers. The big companies think this is a temporary situation, OR they aren't thinking too far ahead.

Had written them off Wormht, due to the scammy way the share buyout was conducted and as I made a small profit on the majority which I did sell, I'll just be glad to see the back of the rest of them!

Difficult to know whether to accept that offer that has been posted, the deferred consideration payable by St. Ives at 7.5X Ebitda could be in the region £5/6mln, on the basis that the period up to 02.08.13. Amaze had operating profit of £511K, had they owned Amaze from beginning of period(six months I assume) it would have been £1.13mln., so what's it likely to be to 31.12.13, one assumes guys running HGV Ltd know that they will be due for a windfall so 55p per share looks on the soft side of generous, it's likely that in an organisation as bigs as SIV they have improved the performance of Amaze even in that short time through cross-selling of products - FOOD FOR THOUGHT!
