Holding on here as I think there could well be an improved bid. Good way for an Overseas co. to gain share of U.K. and Euro cheese market and opportunity to grow at faster pace with bidder providing additional capital. {sp 632p)

Decided to sell out. Only 632p but its a 12p premium less costs I suppose. Puts it into this tax year.

The only rule in the City is not to get caught. I was lucky enough to make a virgin buy just before Xmas and I took the money and ran. Pity to see another British company bite the dust though.

No,not bad indeed.Nice work if you can get it.Is the FCA brief to investigate misconduct, rather than conduct? Just a thought.

So not all bad, eh?

According to the 'Mail',the FCA may be scrutinising the deal because of the unusual share price activity prior to the announcement of the deal. That inspires me with so much confidence, their record against wrong-doers is so wonderful! No doubt after a two year investigation there might be a small fine and a rap on the knuckles for someone, meanwhile the circus has moved on.The old fall back of it is very difficult to find any evidence and prove these things will no doubt be employed.Good excuse for not doing your job properly.

I have decidedto take the money and run. There are other opportunities out there at the moment that I really like the look of and, I have made a decent profit here. If there is more for others then, good luck to them

Well my thoughts on this are:
1. It's disappointing that another quality UK company is being sold to an overseas company.
2. Price is acceptable.
3. It looks like the market thinks this is not a knock-out bid. 640p is quite a premium.
4. I had already taken the view that I may exit this at above £6 as I was concerned about the low free cash flow of recent years.

The conundrum now, is whether to take c640p or wait it out on anticipation of an even better outcome. I'm probably inclined towards the latter as I am already high cash (awaiting the bear) and its near the end of the tax year.

Whatever.... Davidstow 5 year matured is still my favourite cheese. Will consume happily for the rest of my life!

Sold 1/3 and wait and see with the rest. If 640 + Monday, then I am sure will be tempted to sell a few more. Sympathy for those who reduced the last couple of days. It cannot be so hard to find who leaked the info, they know who was involved. At least make it uncomfortable for them, they basically stole from those who sold early.

Closing aution 377,157 @ 640p.
Looks like fhe market is pricing in 30% chance of a higher offer. I am holding on to these for now.

Absolutely disgraceful price action earlier in the week, clear instance of insider dealing - this should be investigated.

You're right Lancasterbomber, but Dairy Crest after acquiring Unigate, sold off all their depot assets (including the lucrative Nine Elms depot) and then flogged their milk operations to Muller/wiseman, so they have previous in selling things off.

All very suspicious, the share price rise here recently.I was looking for a good entry point for the attractive dividend but the share price was rising on no news. With Brexit uncertainty overshadowing the market, this share is now up 50% in no time. This is why private investors no longer trust these markets.
