yes aware that it makes it illiquid which of course is sometimes positive, sometimes negative as we know but so little float.
Perhaps I 'll start a thread on it.
Thanks for your reply.

if there is a low free float, it's more illiquid, so it moves up and down more sharply

again, the same logic, why float at all in London if U wanted to go private? Doesn't make sense to go private after the costs of an AIM listing (more than 300000 quid)

Anyroad, there are other companies on AIM - like crhl - with a tightly held equity.

I am interested thanks. However I was referring to another company
above....I obviously phrased it badly...... that appear to be 90% owned by their directors following a recent buy. That was my question whether there was any point in buying with such a tiny free float.

Hi Hazl,

They (3 main directors) have experience in the Far East, eg Singapore. Think they want the London listing for keeps (why float otherwise?), and to create more institutional interest. And greater liquidity in shares.

They'll need to make an acquisition pretty quick to galvanize interest, otherwise they'll flat-line. The initial rise in the share price bodes well, maybe the Management is highly rated by the City?
I like the "5 in 18" statement. It shows some conviction as a start-up.

andrbea am very interested in a company that seems to have no other following. It has no bb created. You have greater technical knowledge than myself,I'm sure and before I invest would be interested in your opinion.Though an aim share it is reliant on the emerging markets,it is over 90 % owned by directors now....perhaps they want to take it private, would that amount of director ownership make it not viable to a private investor.....I don't know?
I wouldn't like to be stuck in it could that make it difficult to sell do you know? The business model looks great imo and they have already proved themselves in a privately owned company with a similar business.
edit unsure whether it is as great as 90% as further changes have been made this year.
