I don't like Topps but their range of tiles is 2nd to none IMHO.

Hmm, the fact that they are pointing out 2023 was a record year smacks of trying to talk the poor results up.

Recovering now, I think the market pretty much expected this. Going to be interesting to see the May presentation. Obviously we will get a new three or five year target and strategy but will the dividend remain intact? What about our Polish significant minority holder? That needs to be resolved

Starting to have a look here.

I have seen consensus 1 to 3 year eps growth figures that are mouthwatering but at the moment old sentiment prevails. So we need to see some positives to interest rates, which could be soon.

First fortnight in January , everywhere is quiet, not sure TPT any quieter than Travis Perkins or other merchants. Mind you it does seem VERY quiet.

It's tough out there.

Myself and the poster Death by Donut, gave you a honest view from both ends of the country !. It will take a lot of time for the building trades to recover ! but recover it will. If you believe in Topps ! the lower share price will give you the opportunity to buy more shares for your money, there is always a silver lining.

Just in case anyone else was feeling optimistic about a recovery here, out comes the gloom of Q1 .Yes they said it would be weak, but confirmation is never going to be welcomed by the market. Await Q3 &4?

Results don't make great reading, dividend uncovered now and bleak trading statement for new year. The upside I guess is that they are well placed to take market share from less strong competitors in this weak macro phase of the cycle.

I'm subby to a company who has a few Persimmon sites and one Bellway in Scotland's central belt.
Work on building sites has tailed off but they are still building and selling houses. In some cases tiling with the classic marble look, just to finish the house unsold in preparation for the upturn that will come.
He gets domestic work to fill in the gaps. I was talking with a bathroom fitter at the start of the week and he was saying how quiet he is. So we will just have to keep it tight and wait for the upturn.
