If deal gets done expect a bloodbath.
Back office will be merged big staff sackings. Then trading ,too many non productive sacked,Corporate Finance merged ,senior staff sacked.Nomad approved reduced, more sackings.
Finally one CEO,one Chair, one smaller unitary board, more sackings.
Then ,depending on financial climate and AIM deregulation, the new leaner company may succeed.

Let's not forget that Panmure Gordon came quite close to paying 37m for Finncap only a few months ago. You are now paying 14.5m in the open market. In reality you are actually paying 29m for Finncap and Cenkos combined. Either that represents superb value or the UK small cap markets are going to be dead for the next 3-5 years. Time will tell I suppose.

: Cenkos Securities and finnCap Group, the two London-listed brokers, will announce an all-share merger as soon as tomorrow which could kickstart a renewed wave of consolidation among the City's smaller investment banking firms.

Market seems pleased with Numis update.
Appears the sector 'may' be through the worst.
Bought a small amount at 13p this morning.

Good luck all.

Peel Hunt's profits plunge 99.7% after 'lousy year'Peel Hunt barely clung on to profitability over the past six months, leaving the City stockbroker ready to see the back of what has been a "lousy year" for company flotations and corporate fundraisings.

Nobody wanted 20.4p, apart from perhaps a few of the larger holders who were willing to roll their stakes into equity in the combined entity. Seems a friendly parting though, no major barny, just an inability to agree a price.
