Private investors should do their own research - they can't hold anyone who suggests a possible investment responsible for their deals. A suggestion is a pointer - from then on, it's up to the investor.

tara7...I am not knocking what you do per se....it is a highly risky strategy that can pay off big time so long as you have a large portfolio of these companies and you pick the bottom or very close to it and can also sell at or near the top.

They will be relatively small and illiquid companies though and if you get the wrong ones that have poor business plans or management then the investment can also turn to dust quite quickly. I think if you want folk to see how the strategy works then you should be straight and honest and show ALL the stocks you have put forward in say the last five years. I really doubt more than 15% will have had the returns you are flagging.

You should be applauded for some of the successes though. You certainly found NTA early and before all the horrors came out from below the floorboards. Once again if peeps followed you when you were still shouting out loud about them above 80p then they would have had a high percentage chance of losing money and significant amounts of losses for many who must be sore about the level of the bid that directors have engineered amongst themselves leaving smaller holders feeling shafted ! true or false ?

How many maths teachers here.?

All these in the last few years.

COM 4p to £8.50p = 220 times

NTA 2p to £1.40p = 70 times

WSG 8p to 42p = 4 times

AGL 12p to 90p = 6 times

PTO my share of the year up 340% in the last 12 months.

PXS 0.6p to 17p = 30 times

IDG doubled.

I concur with posters too, well done to all holders but as Davidosh says 60p is not a great return for anyone who has been holding for more than a couple of years.

I actually sold my holding a year or so ago in the 50's and have since doubled up the money by investing in other profitable ventures. Good job i did really.

A bid was always likely to happen be the big questions as always are at when and at what price!??

tara7....I am sure you did say that in September 2011 but the share price was 60p at that time so anyone who bought and held on has suffered massive paper losses until the bid was announced today at Errrr 60p. That is a staggeringly poor return whilst I and many others have had far safer investments that have delivered 40% growth and with dividends in many cases too.

You are taking great risk with the penny share punts and so only fair to show all your recommendations and how they have done rather than being selective. If more than say 30% have gone bust then you are really just playing roulette.

The buying says it all , FTSE down 100 yet IDG is rolling.

Still think good chance of a bid from Cardtronics.[they are buying up anything in sight.]

It is also refreshing to see bids at more than 100% the previous market close, and no leak either.

Helps keep the hope and belief alive elsewhere on AIM.

Just seen the news. Well done all holders.

I've had a fair bit of luck in IDG over recent years. Glad the majority of holders will have seen a return.

Good luck all.

tara - thanks for Northacre - I made £100,000 when the shares went over 140p and I will have made another £100,000 when Spadille pay out.

Thanks for the nod several years ago.

And I had IDG on my list to buy when I get the Northacre money

Look at PTO today another sofware company that has what others want.

Look out for a bid way over the share price on that stock.

The directors will not sell for anything under £8.00 in my view.

See post above.

Just like i posted NTA at 2p for a 70 bagger.!!

I am bullish, never look down or live in fear as most investors do.!!

I am running at well over 30% compound for the last 7 years.

Fact is, i do not understand why anyone would ever buy a share if it can not 10 bag within 3 years.

Not all will, but the market has risk so go for the huge gains to reduce that risk.

Yes Tara but posting in SEpt 2011 was merely a ramp, so it has been proven. Your investment strategy might need some examination since you clearly missed a momentum opportunity here at least til OCt 2011. ANd if you really thought so much of the company's opportunities you have missed a real jackpot in not investing in the 20s recently.

investers in the Stock Exchange no doubt do so for a number of resons and I am sure a number do actually research. However I am surprised to see such insecurity in your posts - so full of exclamation marks and self-preening - if you are as successful as you suggest.

why not put it equal to 60p?

why do the MMs always have to show what morons they are by listing it a bit below

"60 pence in cash"

gets some specs MMs!!!

But i bought prior to posting at 30p.!

Plus the company was taken out today by Cardtronics [as i posted.]

Plus 98% of investors have done very well indeed.!!

Plus stocks like my share of the year 2012 are up 400%.!!

If you do your own research you can produce this these sorts of results.

Good luck.

tara; what a self-deluded post. In Sept 2011 you could have bought IDG for above what they have been taken out for now you wet dreamer - that would constiuute a loss had you invested then : fact!
