"why are folks buying at 464 when this is being taken out at 465?"

expecting a counter-bid perhaps?

Styles & Wood Group PLC Contract Win

"Styles & Wood was successful following a two-stage tender process and management believe that the contract, which will span a 72 week period, should contribute approximately GBP38.25 million of revenue over the duration of its life."

Shame we will not benefit :-(

With Carrillion gone there will be a lot of MOD housing looking for a new manager, it could be an opening for the new owner of STY? Not that it helps any shareholders now :¬( I thought this was worth more than the 465p take out.

ok, I have looked at the offer document. Lombard Odier hold 50% of the preference shares and have agreed to sell on completion. It is this agreement that requires an additional disclosure. Just paperwork!

"Lombard Odier Asset Management (Europe) Limited has entered into a Convertible Preference Share agreement with Central Square Holdings Limited as of the 21st December 2017"

it looks like Lombard Odier have taken an option on 50% of the preference shares. Why? ... I have no idea.

KerChiiing! a healthy crop of building plots certainly beats milking the cows at 06:00! 'N' negotiated? There's a list somewhere of the codes.

Thank you for the invite, the TT is still on the bucket list. Enjoy your STY profits, it certainly turned out a winner for me too. Cheers, Lefrene

£4.2k wouldn't even pay my wine merchants claret bill for a month....!!

Have you seen the price of first growth clarets these days.

I took the money and run, I am happy, I can now use the money to buy shares.

It's all good fun

Personally I am bagging a or. There is consolidation in this sector yes but it is also a " cheap " sector.

I also feel it's being taken on the cheap, but it looks a done deal unless there is a counter offer.

Feels like when you open your Christmas present and it's something good, but not actually what you were hoping to receive. Looking a the one year chart, this doesn't seem to be a particularly generous offer, but money made and now time to move on.

Sorry correction - 10 p increase - circa 2.5% - not quite as attractive - ignore me!!

Handy. Added at 330p recently as I thought it would rally soon. Mind you I think a price below 500 is a bit low for long term holders and no equity stake going forward

As I read it if you buy now you get 25 p guaranteed increase in price - approx 5% return - not too bad. Of course there is a risk that the deal falls through!!
