so when do share holders get paid 6.2p if they are still holding, when it delists off aim, does the crest account get credited with 6.2p per share or do you have to sell out before the aim delisting

2086/7 I feel exactly the same; it's a great shame that this company has spiralled downhill to a fire sale ending.

I completely agree. It would be interesting to work out how much Garland got paid over the last 3 or 4 years whilst overseeing complete failure. Nice work if you can get it. For us lesser mortals, we get sacked if we don't perform......

A sorry end to a sorry company. A pity about all the people (except the exec) who will inevitably lose their jobs due to these incompetents.

I have just read the acquisition RNS in its entirety. The statement from Fellner must have been written through gritted teeth (if that is possible😜) because he has been involved for many years and essentially this ranks as a big failure on his part. If you think back to the days of Frova, since then what a disaster it has all been. Shambolic management.....yet they have taken their fat salaries for many years. There is absolutely no accountability....

Thanks Greedfear. I run on the assumption that this deal was made public after taking the major stakeholders into confidence. Wonder what would it take to disrupt it

Ligand is the only true winner here. Paying next to nothing for ver's portfolio.

Besides that if for some odd reason this deal would not get through I don't think a better deal is likely. Too much support to expect a bidding war too. So little to gain to hold onto.

Quick question to all. If the shareholders would be paid 6.20 why is the world selling at 6.0 ? Thank you

Cash at end of June @27Million. which means 32M values all IP only at 5 million. Disappointing indeed. Good deal for Ligand.

"this company is being sold cheap!"

- some people just don't get it - it is not being sold cheap - at 6.2p Ligand are paying about 2p/share "sympathy money". They could have got away with less if they'd really wanted to push it. It is very clear that there was no one else interested in buying the whole company and folks on here talking about 12p+ valuations and such were deluding themselves.

"-- Commenting on the Acquisition, Dr. Peter Fellner, Chairman of Vernalis, said:
"On behalf of the Board, following the formal sale process that the business initiated in March this year, I am pleased to recommend the acquisition of Vernalis by the Ligand Group to all Vernalis Shareholders. The Board was pleased with the interest the Company received as part of the formal sale process and believes the cash offer from the Ligand Group represents the best value for all Vernalis shareholders."

Yes sure, "pleased", "best value" for anyone that bought right at the bottom! Anyway this was inevitable a while ago which is why I got out then but should have done so much sooner.
