The price was certainly way too low and shareholders should have fought for a higher price...now just 20 months later the business is coming back to market at over twice the valuation at which it left....exit at £40m now floating at £106m !!

I will definitely be voting against. The price is way too low IMO.

This was always on the cards looking at Mills history. Management brought into the deal with great incentives I would think. Not too much to complain about for me as I only bought a few months ago when they seemed to flag a deal in the results. As people have said where is the trading update to judge if we should say yes to this. Will see and move on but hope a few people will fight it - I assume they need 75% to delist?

Does this mean North Atlantic and Oryx benefit though ten-pin bowling looks a far from certain prospect?

I was expecting a 'low ball' offer but not that low. Outrageous.

I am interested to know how current trading is ? We have not had an update for months and the first half ended without any current like for like info so how can shareholders decide ?

Indeed. Too cheap IMO. The last statement said "Should a satisfactory offer not be forthcoming from Harwood, the Board of Essenden will continue to examine a range of strategic options which could further enhance shareholder value given recent and potential corporate activity in the bowling sector".

It strikes me they should have done that b4 accepting this offer. Fat cat jam and champers all round.

Cash offer at 80p just announced. That is derisory IMO and only a 10% premium to where we were before the announcement nearly four months ago and actually lower than where the company share price was a year ago.

Was not able to get there, but told that because the company is in a close period, there were no questions and answers. So we did not miss anything.

It was supposed to be on May 19th, did it happen? There definitely wasn't an AGM statement, there was last year. That's a little bizarre.

Any news from the Agm ? Just spotted that it was at exactly the same time and day as the Somero Agm I attended last week so could not be in two places at the same time sadly.

Did anyone here attend ?

One wonders how much time you need for such a small co....

Hi all,

From today's RNS

At the request of the Board of Essenden, the Panel has consented to a further extension of the deadline to 5.00 p.m. on 26 June 2015 by which time Harwood must either announce a firm intention to make an offer for Essenden under Rule 2.7 of the Code or announce that it does not intend to make an offer for Essenden. This deadline will only be extended with the consent of the Panel in accordance with Rule 2.6(c) of the Code.

The Board of Essenden believes that discussions are progressing well with Harwood and the anticipated timetable for the completion of these discussions is consistent with the newly extended deadline.

Fair comment. Milliband and Sturgeon might well ban free enterprise and nationalise all profitable businesses, for their own good :-)

I see Harwood have been granted an extension; i think that they want to see the election result and the aftermath, that's what i would do.

Hi David

Sadly the Mello events are too far away for me...and nobody is clever enough to teach me how to overcome my investment failings - they are too ingrained!

Have a look at BQE - if TRAC sale goes through (which seems very likely to me) I reckon residual biz worth more than Mr Market is currently indicating. Need to trawl through a lot of stuff but I reckon remaining biz being valued at just c. £7m for £27m turnover, at least (I may be wrong!) £7m nca, £3+m EBITDA (tho a fair amount of capex so don't let EBITDA deceive you), some property (mortgaged but with a useful bit of equity) etc etc. Might all go wrong but I think interesting.

EM....indeed. I wonder if we will get an Agm this year or a deal done beforehand. Are you coming to our Mello workshops event ?

A ridiculous article. He has the market cap miles out and Trefick sold out completely in Oct 14.

Scary these journos!
