P 126 of the circular details tax position for us, as I read it the cash and AEM shares are subject to capital gains whilst the PAAS shares aren't. Apportioning based on the value of the AEM and PAAS socks on the date of the transaction.

Preferred the Gold Fields deal, oh well. Agnico is great company, PAAS if they get their Guatemala mine reopened.

Great to have had the competition. There must be a shortage of available gold for larger-scale miners.

VanEck oppose the merger, looking like it probably won't happen with Red Wheel still opposing.

My average cost is about £5.52, so some way to go, to get my money back……

The all-stock merger allowed Yamana shareholders to redeem their shares for Gold Fields shares at an exchange ratio of 0.6, implying a Yamana share price of US$7.39. or a 33-per-cent premium based on the 10-day value weighted average trading price of each company.

Yes not that great if you bought in at the wrong time, I started buying below £3 so I'm just lucky i guess,

the takeout price looks to be £5.92p so im happy with that at .6 a share

According to Bloomberg the second highest premium paid in the past five years. Surprised to see quite a lot of hostility on Yahoo etc. Personally delighted, Gold Fields are a great company, huge new mine starting production in Chile next year and ramping up production at South Deep. Nice bump in the share price and looking at a hefty jump in the dividend too. If Gold Fields got back to their recent high of USD17 would imply USD10 for Yamana at 0.6 conversion rate.

To be taken over by Gold Fields. Decent premium, in contrast to Kirkland Lake/Agnico-Eagle a few months ago.
Good news!

yes I think this company will re-rate higher along with the gold & silver price,

sound money will be better than cash & this company looks to be on top of the debt & will benefit massively when the currency reset happens, very happy with my position here.

Great results, cash pile continues growing. Longer term very impressive ability to maintain/increase production with plenty of internal growth prospects with a lot of upside potential.

Jacobina and Malartic are world class mines. Generating enough cash to invest, increase the dividend and pay down debt.

Liquidity needs to pick up on this, lack of trading is why they pulled it from London all those years ago. News out of Argentina increasingly positive on MARA, not priced in at all.

US listing closed 5% up tonight so this should transfer to the morning in the UK share price and it should gap up. Also I got an email response from the company about the liquidity of the shares on the UK listing and they are working on this and have some ongoing initiatives. They have lots been in contact with some broker platforms that do not have them listed. So we should see increase in liquidity soon.
