Most heavily geared property stocks will eventually go through the roof because even a small advance in property values will have a dramatic effect on NAV, is DLD another a heavily discounted illiquid property stock in this position ?

this is very cheap if you believe property prices have stopped falling.....looks like there have been protests at further dilution, there is only one reason for this position being taken by existing holders and it is that the share is likely to rocket....

dont think wiess will bid. they are building up large stakes across plenty of different plays. I think they are focusing on the longer term.

SGL had an offer which was considerably above its parent company cash level. Using the same metrics for DLD would give about 100% premium from around current levels. Not sure that will materialise but there is a lot of interest for those looking to pick the bottom in these highly geared property companies.

Bid talk boosted several small caps. German property company Deutsche Land jumped 0.88 – almost 15pc – to 6¾p on rumours that Prostar Capital will on Friday make an offer for the group.
