Thanks. Hargreaves Lansdown finally stumped up the £2.09 per share in cleared funds into my HL Stocks & Shares ISA at some point yesterday (Tues 24/05).

Thanks. Very good. Apparently HL ISA account holders need to wait until Friday 20th May for the 209.00 GBX per MCKS share. I just found the following in an HL message received on 5th April:If approved, the offer will complete on 6 May 2022. The new shares will be credited on or around 9 May 2022 and cash will be paid on or around 20 May 2022. If you want to sell your shares before it completes, you'll need to do so before 4:30pm on Thursday 5 May 2022. If you'd like to sell your shares you can place a trade online.

I'm so annoyed I sold out too early. I did think for the board to be recommending a bid below NAV was strange and seems I should have factored in the potential of another bid coming through.

So there is a possibility of a higher offer from Slate Asset Management who have sought information to consider a bid. Hence the bounce in price this morning. Will presumably be at least 5% above current bid to convince the board to switch horses. The upside looks bigger than the downside of the current bid being the last shout. I am minded to adopt the wait and see approach.

I sold out this morning at 286.1. I estimate the value of the offer (209p + 0.115 workspace shares is 285p), so I'm quite surprised by this and it cost me £9.95 dealing commission but then I'm out without workspace shares. It even hit 288p in the morning.

Perhaps puts pay to the more bearish take
on commercial office, as interest suggesting a better longer term outlook.

Some underestimating older office space
likely leaving the market over the next 5 years plus?.

Some good news amongst all the gloom. I have sold today at 289p for a good profit. Held for 20 years or so and its always been a solid dividend payer as well. I would normally have waited for the deal to finalise, but I don't necessarily want Workspace shares, and the share price has already gone down today.
I'm trying to refocus my property holdings towards simplification using TR Property Investment Trust, as far as is possible, and so will look to invest the proceeds there at some point.

So, finally a bid for a high discount REIT - MCKS, the one with a 65% Office allocation!

I've been in and out of these quite a few times recently; but unfortunately not holding when the 30% rise arrived!

I noticed that comment at the bottom of the notification but presumably they've still been buying as MCKS haven't announced changes to the existing large shareholders such as Bank of Montreal, or is that not how it works?
