SPLITs Followers’ Thoughts for 2009 (JDT)

2008 – What a disaster. What with my SIPP down 31% and the £ down the same, a year best forgotten. Living as I do down here in SW France, the exchange rate is a daily concern. Fortunately I froze forward @ 1.20; but should have done so far earlier…..

Won’t post much on this header as I appear to be a bit of a busted flush at the moment. Still, suffice to say that I expect the £ to rally back to E1.25; Gold to race through $1250; Silver to recover to $21 (and then some); and the FTSE to do heaven knows what.

As for tips, I posted on the TIPS thread my choice of 3 stocks to be bought together as a spec. portfolio:

1 from the Mining sector - Mariana Resources (MARL) @ 3.0p
1 from the Oil sector - Antrim Energy (AEY) @ 25p
1 from the Property sector - Invista European Real Estate (IERE) @ 7.3p

Note: I own all three; and have recently averaged down in all three!
