Game Retail files for £400m IPO

Video game retailer plans stock market listing two years after toppling into administration

Game said it made revenues of £686.4m in the six months to January 25 and adjusted earnings of £50.8m. The group reported adjusted earnings of £47m for 2013, making the flotation value of £400 roughly 10 times. The company will be debt free when it comes to market after a restructuring of the business. However, the company still does not have credit insurance.

Earnings?

What about profit?

I've filed my self assessment on-line this week, scanned all contract notes related to GMG purchases and claimed the lot as the CGT loss. Added a note explaining that the shares were cancelled at 0p. Left the rest to the taxman, they know the case well.

bingo , spot on with that one , the uk is basically corrupt from top to bottom, two examples for you
Royal Bank of Scotland , have a friend who financed a property development using their finance with no strings attached , £2.5million borrowed on just some proposals from an Architect , not one penny was used for the development , and the money was never repaid , guy is now living on the Costa and enjoying his spoils.

Another friend wanted to buy a drilling machine for his very long established company , I belief the figure was £130,000 , had to sign a personal gurantee and a second debenture against his home .

Same bank differant rules , clearly there were brown envelopes involved in property development , and nothing for the drill

I spoke to administrators.

Basically was told to move on and use as a cgt loss.

We will be getting nothing.

NOTHING!

It's very amusing how people like dodd5y refuse to believe that administration means nil return for shareholders.

After more than a decade of investing (mostly successful) in UK stock market, I've pulled out completely. If the thieves could do it (and get away with it) to GMG, they can do it to any other stock. If you want steady investment, brick and mortar is the way to go, if you want trading, it has to be FOREX. Don't think we'll get anything back from administrators. The way they treated shareholders (supposedly the owners of the company) is appalling.

I've just bought 2 nearly new cars, the money that usually went into stocks. Much better feeling. Next month going to talk to HMRC about the tax return and the status of GMG shares. All the best for the future.

Administrators fees will be the same as the money available.
No return to shareholders.

Luckily I only paid 2.5p so if they offer anything around 1.2p a share I'd be chuffed to get 50% back, feel gutted for those who bought on the spike days before the administration.

Its a long waiting game now, possibly over a year or more. Our best hope is the big guys are taking legal action or doing something in the background that we little people know nothing about. You just need to write it off as a 100% loss and if we get anything back it will be a bonus.

So where does it go from here? In time will anything be returned to shareholders or is it the end completely? First time I have experienced this.
