Thanks for this...otherwise would never have known about it (due to sharecrazy continually moving accounts around)...... doubled my investment so if this is the end, then not too bad!

I got a dividend cheque this morning, 0.66p per share. The enclosed note states that this represents the return of all material value to shareholders and no further dividends will be paid. Looks like the end of the story.

Wish I knew the status of this company. I tried emailing the address on their website, but this was their reply:

"All ACMH queries should be directed to Glenn Kennedy, glenn@abcapman.com as Xanthus Asset Management has been operating as a separate entity for over 2 years. "

I don't really know what this means. I tried emailing Glenn but there has been no response. Aren't companies supposed to provide information to their shareholders?

Might not be what you want to hear, but:

- company still exists

- you still own shares

- therefore, no disposal for CGT purposes

Hi guys how are you dealing with this for CGT purposes. Obviously got the divi income, but can we claim for the loss on the capital yet?

Thanks in advance

No just come on here to check actually. Was completely out of the blue last year and never even knew what it was for!

I'm still following this.

No divs for me, no idea about report and accounts. I don't think they actually need to file them being a Cayman company.

June's fund performance is on their website, so they're still in business. Beyond that I know nowt.

It is now exactly a year since the last dividend of 7pps was paid. Has anyone received one this year? Does anyone have access to the Report and Accounts?

Does anyone know anything about this co yet?

Given current performance in the current bull market, I can't see this divi being repeated in the near future.

therefore taxed at the full 40% and not the 32.5% (if a higher rate tax payer) or 10% (if not a higher rate tax payer)

Yes. It was paid gross as it was from a Cayman company, so no tax credit attached.

Anyone know the tax implication of the divi we received? Ie do you need to disclose it

There should be one for the year ending December 2008 at some point soon. Maybe things will become clearer then.

Nope - as it is delisted there is no listed "price" info, and is located in the Cayman Islands - I have no idea of the reporting requirements on a company based in the Cayman Islands. We may get an annual report once a year about 10 months after the year-end, if we are lucky.

Good stuff so we may be in for more down the line all very opaque but great news for us

this was always a going concern. they delisted to save costs and at the same time offered a share buyback (at a rediculously low price) to allow holders to get rid of their shares easily. the biggest shareholders declined to take part (which was my reasoning, coupled with the fact that I would have got about peanuts back). there is supposed to an "internal" market to sell shares on (wonder what they are NOW valued at?). i suspect that they will continue to trade, pay divis (to give the shareholders a return) and, if market conditions rebound, re-list somewhere.

There's signs of life! The Xanthus website has now been updated with fund performance to June. All the funds are down though so where the cash for this divi came from is a mystery. But it looks like it's continuing business.

I have to say that having this board helped me in convincing them that I knew that a dividend had been paid .... as for the reason/explanation of the dividend, I am in the dark. However, as it was for twice the cost of my investment, I am quite happy. Makes me wonder, if we are likely to receive future dividends or an improved offer to buy our shares.
