Savills issued a solid trading update this morning. The Group has continued to trade strongly since June, particularly in the UK and Asia Pacific regions where outperformance is expected. The Group has also benefited from a continuation of lower than normal levels of discretionary expenditure which is expected to continue through the remainder of the year. The Group is likely to achieve “overall profits materially ahead of 2019 for the current year, before a resumption of more normalised trading and cost dynamics in 2022.” Share price is pushing up to record highs. I agree Mike but notice Investors Chronicle have said take profits Sell. I do find it annoying the way the share price can be quite volatile at times without any underlying reason which I can find. It’s a sentimental hold for me which is probably a bit daft but there you go.

I don’t know about London exodus. I’ve lived in the Wimbledon area for 30 years. My road has never been busier with full house renovations and general home projects going on. I used to to work for Savills sand know they’ve had a fantastic year around here. For every seller there’s a buyer or two. But Savills will have been doing well in all residential markets. Just part of this years crazy housing market.

Strong results today and with focus on growing less transactional side of business presumably forecasts become less volatile and an argument for a higher rating / quality business can be made. A good recovery play which has not had to issue more shares.

not suprised at spike to-day,
exchange of contracts is at decent time level in parts of London
I know, in some towns delays by local authorities, with searches on props is a total shambles
delays due to allsorts of excuses mainly IT breakdowns, staff shortages, blah blah
edit
previous post, viewing to exchange contracts just severn wks

google: named & shamed slowest councils (searches)
Londoners bought 74000 homes outside city, this ripple effect
helping BTL's to csh in, rental returns just don't stack up

edit , need to see stamp duty benefit extended, even as a scaled back model
ie to 350k or just first time buyers
