06/2/2024 00:28 | The irony is, WYN doesn't spring surprises - the market does. Very good presentation though - LTBH to >£6 IMO. | value hound
05/2/2024 23:57 | Quite turnaround. For a 'boring' business, WYN certainly knows how to spring a surprise. | 1knocker
05/2/2024 16:51 | Interesting results presentation, thank you. Ended the day quite perky. A delayed reaction and further consideration of the results? | jeffian

02/2/2024 19:53 | Gone up too quickly for your liking! Yes I find it really disappointing when that happens ; much rather see a share plunge after I buy them. Really enjoy watching a share price soar after I have sold them too.... | wad collector
02/2/2024 17:21 | Good value according to SimplyWall.St. Bought a week ago at 340p, so pleased to see such a quick positive reaction. But a little too quick for my liking. Hoping to hang on to these for at least 2 years. simplywall.st/stocks | bend1pa
02/2/2024 15:10 | It is certainly nice to see the share price move north a bit, and encouraging to see WYN showing blue today when most of the rest of my portfolio is red. It would be reassuring if the share price manages to reach and hold 400, perhaps 450 in the course of time. Doubling seems a bit of a stretch until the headwinds for the business cease. | 1knocker
30/1/2024 13:57 | I'm travelling so was unable to take advantage of the early dip. I thought these results were pretty good under the circumstances and think they're worth close to twice as much over time. | value hound
30/1/2024 09:39 | Profits down but this was expected, though surprised market has not nailed the share price more. EPS of 30p gives a P/E of about 11 so I have worse holdings.... | wad collector

18/1/2024 10:19 | I’m involved with a loss making farm in Somerset too which is propped up by buy to lets. Yes farming has always been cyclical but finances also squeezed by soaring prices and reduction of government subsidies. It’s always been a marginal lifestyle (ie unsalaried )type of business to be in which for many is no longer a going concern. | zoolook
17/1/2024 11:33 | I use a farming contractor to mow my paddocks and cut my hedges. He has a large portfolio of contracts for many of the local farmers in Somerset. He says the situation is truly desperate for many of them. Wynnstay will unquestionably be affected. This is a cyclical business determined by weather and commodity prices. Makes for great range trading. 250-600. Getting closer to the bottom. Waiting for the next profit downgrade. | elsa7878
17/1/2024 10:41 | I guess:- 1. Some of those flooded fields will need to be re-sown 2. More livestock will be indoors or concentrated on higher dry groundand will need more bought in feed. These things happen in farming though. Any cyclical weakness is likely to be more significant to the bottom line than 'events'. Disclaimer: I am not a farmer. | 1knocker
17/1/2024 09:47 | Thanks. On such slim operating margins reduced demand due to weather will slaughter operating contribution. Anyone in farming ? Is there any product upsides post flooding? | 1ups1de
15/1/2024 15:05 | 1upside - furthermore recent flooding etc. in the accounts to end Oct 2024 so may dampen hopes mentioned in last RNS for revival during current financial year. | whackford
15/1/2024 08:38 | Given recent weather I doubt the month end commentary will be favourable. Stockopedia has net profit to fall dramatically in 2023:down from 17.1m to 7.7m. More turbulence ahead? | 1ups1de
11/1/2024 16:34 | It is rather disconcerting the way the share price has continued to fall. Fortunately, I sold out at 621 (when it did seem seriously overbought) but then bought back a third much too early at 535. Today my limit order to buy back another third triggered at 332. Is that also going to prove too early? I have no idea. I first bought in about 2020, at 269 (which I then thought an oversold price), and the business OUGHT now to be considerably stronger than it was then.At present either it is cheap, or cheap for a reason. Not sure whether I am keen to buy back the final third of my holding or not!! | 1knocker
05/1/2024 07:27 | All this wet weather is bad news for farmers, hence share price drop. | whackford
04/1/2024 22:46 | I am looking closely at WYN as well. i have a limit order in a few pence below the current price. I sold out at 621 a while back (got that one right anyway, though luck rather than judgment), bought back a third (too early) at 535, and ever since have been looking to make a further re-purchase and wondering how low it can go! My original purchase only a couple of years ago wss at 269 !! It has been a crazy roller coaster for a supposedly 'boring' stock. Carrs is heavily down too, but WYN looks the stronger business to me. | 1knocker
04/1/2024 22:10 | Back in as of today, was looking at an re-entry point for quite some time and with the volume up today, it made me buy 1/3 of my wanted position. Have fond memories from the run up a few years ago. Got a bit too expensive but always on my radar. | kirmich
12/12/2023 07:55 | No, limit orders are not included. It's only orders on the order book that choose to take part. You have to have a broker like IG that allows that. | slopsjon2
11/12/2023 17:12 | Can a limit order get filled in the closing auction? | frazboy
11/12/2023 13:13 | It shows merit in placing a few limit orders at way out of the money prices though. Once in a while one triggers in volatile markets like this. | 1knocker |
