A few signs of life in the old dog atm. This reminds me of Sopheon a bit - awards aplenty, but its not supposed to be a charity to large PLC's.

'

looks like a better 2012 though and stock markets are generally about the future imo
from the November trading statement
'Whilst current performance is disappointing, we expect substantial improvement in 2012. The Directors are pleased to report that the Group is continuing to sign corporate forward flow accounts with large multinational organisations, including five new global contracts since 30 June 2011, and is currently working with three of the four largest UK manufacturing organisations. In addition, for the third consecutive year the company has received the prestigious Business Partner Excellence Award from Procter & Gamble; in 2011 only 80 of 75,000 suppliers achieved this award'

This leopard hasn't changed it's spots then! The usual poor trading statement coupled with vague promised that better is to come. It's all getting a bit predictable now.

GoIndustry moves to make most of US housing crisis

With so much doom and gloom surrounding the US housing market, it's worth keeping an eye open for companies seeking to make a profit out of all the woes. GoIndustry, which until now has specialised in auctioning second-hand industrial machinery and equipment, is one.

It will confirm to the stock market today that it is moving into the booming US real estate auction business. With foreclosures set to increase, there's likely to be plenty more business to compete for.

from above:

"We believe the market opportunity to be significant, a revised company strategy leveraging GoIndustry's global strengths into the targeting of higher margin, corporate-led, business.

"We believe the company has the capability to generate significant levels of earnings and cash, thus we reiterate our 'Buy' recommendation and 195p price target."

He continued: "Results for FY2010 evidence the turnaround of the business, a better than expected adjusted profit before tax reflecting a change in revenue mix in the year and success of new strategies laid down by the new CEO.

"A measured cost reduction plan (reducing the relatively high fixed cost base to an annualised £27mln) combined with greater focus on higher margin trading activities, has resulted in both revenue growth and margin expansion leading to a profitable trading performance over three consecutive half year periods".

The broker set a cautious estimate for full-year 2011 at an adjusted profit of £0.7million. Davis expects that the firm's new corporate-led strategy will inject growth into what has proved to be a fairly resilient and diversified business.

Basic earnings per share showed a loss of 3.7p (2009: loss of 78.2p after adjusting for the share consolidation). Adjusted basic earnings per share for the year was 9.6p (2009: loss 26.9p),

some trades on plus I see

they say .....we will continue to focus on the existing corporate-led business and on winning new corporate accounts which they say will give them more visibility.

I've only got a small stake, but quite keen to see a 'clean' set of pre-tax results sometime, or at least some indication of when that might happen.

They have a nasty (presumably partly historical) level of admin. expenses given the turnover growth, unless they can jump it without the expenses growing. I'm in two minds as to whether there are potentially large pre-tax profits here, or whether the business model actually prevents that. ie. profits are only really geared in minor way to revenue increases.

The awards seem something of a red-herring for investors at least, unless they provide a backbone for fee increases for services.

No time to do much research, hence small stake !
