Assore held 29.2% as of 25 March 2024. There has been no subsequent holdings related RNS so presumably the holding remains unchanged. Slide 31 in the most recent presentation is the source.

Selling in Joburg seems to have dried up. Crazy cheap but no-one wants AIM small

cap or a share quoted in Rand.

The Management dont give the impression of caring about the share price.

No-one took wage cuts in last rotten year. CEO is one of the highest paid on AIM.

The new washplant will pay for itself in 18 months. Premium Ruby auction in May and emeralds in June.

Assore are generally value investors. This is portfolio diversification as they are over-exposed to manganese in South Africa and the dire state of Transnet.

Having said that, they recently tried to take over Atlantic Lithium.

Hope this new plant is worth it as £100M seems to have been spent/wasted on it.

Watched analysts meeting which was upbeat. 2024 and 2025 will be very strong years.

Co needs to move off AIM and up its profile with investors.

Far too much cash is being spent - bad timing and militant risks remain.

Upbeat analyst meeting. Liberum reaffirms 25p target.

Second wash plant at ruby mine operational H1 2025 will 3x production, stockpile already in place.

Usual auction timetable returns with high grade ruby in May and high grade emeralds in June.

Company reports that demand for coloured gemstones remains healthy.

Not really a loss. Liberum forecast is after time spent with Management on site visit last month.

Next year could be best ever with withheld premium emeralds to be included.

Colombian emerald production is believed to be well down.

saracen what's your take here and what can we expect from the auction today?

"The loss is driven primarily by the Sedibelo unrealised non-cash write-down and the withdrawn higher-quality emerald auction, the production of which will be offered for sale in 2024, and is not a reflection on the overall strength of the Gemfields business," it said.

Gemfields said a review of its 6.5% shareholding in Sedibelo, the South African platinum group metals mining company, has resulted in a fair value write-down of between USD4.0 million and USD28.0 million.
