Capital Return.Taxed as Capital Gain.Got the payment from Neville Registrars in my bank account this AM but have not yet had an update from the liquidators.Another 20p or so due based on last cash balance plus/minus outcome of mystery legal case.

Actually royal oak I understood it to be not a dividend, there is quite a difference tax wise, very welcome all the same though.

I assume we are awaiting the outcome of the mystery legal action.The length of time this has been going on puts Jarndyce v Jarndyce in the shade,although I can't trace an actual case involving this company or its former trading operations that have begun.Anyone found anything....I can't remember anything being mentioned prior to the sale of the business or in the solvent liquidation statement.

Still this was a fantastic investment.......

Admittedly I don't know anything about liquidation processes or the legal side of things, but given that (apart from ongoing fees) there doesn't seem to be any substantial liabilities in the offing going forward, you would have thought they would have been able to release a substantial part of the cash that's remaining by now. Nothing much seems to have changed since last year and it's quite a substantial amount of funds left that's just sitting there. Seems to be dragging on for an inordinate length of time.

Should eventually be one more payment (maybe two) but it probably won't be very large, maybe 10p-20p or so. Possibly more if they win certain litigation that's in progress, but the liquidators don't give any idea of either financial scale or timescale.

Edit - The cash at bank is just over 31p/share, so my estimate may have been a touch on the low side.

Liquidators of Norman Hay have just updated the current situation. Looks like the third payout will be more than 29p per share. A lot more than I expected.

Hi Maz26. I'm not waiting. Received my payment from Neville Registrars on 15th March. Strange that Barclays say they haven't received your payment. You could contact the liquidator and/or the registrars for their view?

...and furthermore the company was a consistently reliable dividend payer throughout the years too so I can only reiterate what has previously been said in the last two posts, an excellent investment for patient shareholders! It has certainly transformed my modest portfolio over the past year and a half.

Excellent so that looks like having had the first payment which was approximately £3.70 per share we are now getting an additional 81p and possibly a further 10p to 20p final payment.

I am very happy with that when considering it left the market with the share price well below a pound. So many delistings do seem to work out positively......I would love to see some figures to back that up if anyone has a link to market delists?

Great stuff, received my second distribution of income of 81p per share. Date of letter 10th March.

It also states that there will be further distributions although the time or quantum are uncertain at the moment.

Amazing what a good investment this turned out to be, well done again to the HNN Management and staff.

I've never really owned shares in a company that has been taken over like this before, or liquidated etc, usually of course you get the proceeds in one go. So don't know if anyone can clarify this point, but is there any danger that as a result of the legal stuff we may be called upon to return some or all of what we have received already?
