Sign of worse things to come IMO across boozers and eateries and sleeperies


continued tightening of the trading restrictions for pubs which may last another six months along with the changes to government support was always going to make it a challenge to reopen some of our pubs.

Last August a HK based propco bid £2.6bn for GNK - 850p/share.

Timing is everything. Looking at MARS I suspect that today they could have bought GNK for £300m-£500m!

Settlement

No, you can't infer that. The shares are tradable up to the point the Scheme becomes effective.

Strewth, whackford, you're like a dog with a bone.

You've had everything they can say at this stage. The clock does not start ticking on effecting the Scheme of Arrangement until the conditions have been met. The principal condition is getting clearance from the EU Commission that they will not refer the bid to their competition authorities, or those of any member state. If you can put a firm date on that, good luck to you. The other conditions are mainly within the control of the bidder and a RNS is usually issued when they are satisfied and declare their offer unconditional.

If it's that important to you, you could sell your shares in the market today at the loss of less than 2p/share on the bid price plus some costs. It may be worth it to give you the peace of mind you crave. And us.
