Some rapid short covering now pushing the price up.

Long-standing CEO exits, now price drifting.. I'm not suggesting something specific, just an observation.

I much prefer the way that the CEI succession issue has been handled at another nearby AIM company - Tristel. There, the outgoing CEO is staying on until his successor is in post and planned revised targets for the company have been deferred until after tha new CEO has had the opportunity to participate in the process. I think that the acting CEO has done a decent job, but about the only good things I can say about the TET process is that it was completed quickly and the new CEO has a decent CV.

cfro, thanks for the view - I would just add that for many years TET sold around 13-14X (from memory) - ZIRP altered this.

It's now a larger business and arguably also higher quality tbf.

I always like to use the method of "If there was no share price chart, would I still buy the stock here?"

I'd still be concerned that a profit warning would put this on 20x+ earnings, which while still a big discount to the other players in the industry, wouldn't likely be taken by the market well.

Nor is there a permanent CEO or CFO in place.

I suspect this is what the market is thinking, and hence hanging fire on.

In my dreams we have an RNS confirming the two appointments and advising of trading ahead of expectations. (Share price currently suggests this is highly unlikely!)

loofyloofy,

I was just curious to look back through some your previous posts on Treatt and quickly came across your post from way back in March 9th 2016 (please forgive me for being nosey!).
In it you made a direct comparison to Symrise. A transcript of your post below:

Symrise´s results came out yesterday - herewith some comprisons:

EPS 1.90 euros per share 11.94 pence
Dividend 80 cents per share 4.04 pence
EBITDA Margin 22% 11.77%
Net margin 9.49% 9.3%
Share price 55.90 euros 175 pence
Price/earnings ratio 29.42 14.66
Dividend yield 1.4% 2.3%
Dividend cover 2.37 2.95

Interesting......I am not so sure the Symrise results were that good..on every other metric, apart from EBITDA, they are lower than Treatt. Net margins almost identical.

It just struck me. I have not looked at Symrise and currently don't have the time right now (it's Christmas!) to see where the comparison might stand today, but reading your post above it sounds like you do at least keep an eye on Treatt's higher rated competitors.

partridge - I think the main reason for the drop in share price has been that the market put the shares on an extremely optimistic rating which has not, at least as yet, been justified. Not the company’s fault
