yes i agree re fste chart as for the fed think thats in the price that they will do whatever they can. the dow chart looks like 150 to go up yet and there is the gap on the chart as well the dow has always been above the ftse value.mmmmmmmmmmmmmm ok what about this ftse waiting at 4700/50 waiting for dow to drop/rise in the next few days? that would explain why the market is in a mix today. and us traders!

re the fed meeting the expected rate cut is likely already to be in the price - buy the rumour, sell the news

Ruth, re your observation on CTM, something seems strange, lots of sells being taken off before they are traded, someone is playing with the price here

i feel i must give credit where credit is due,i had 3 orders filled off cmc today at prices in my favour for a change, average of 2p on each trade, better than what the market price was,is this a one off day for cmc,did seem slow reacting to prices, but for once im not complaining, they have saved me over £100 today,

there was a trade of 12m shares in tomk at what appeared to be the ask price, this was a "n" trade the description being as follows:-'N' Non Protected Portfolio
"A non-protected portfolio transaction or a fully disclosed portfolio transaction. Normally a transaction of a number of stocks dealt with by one market maker at an agreed discount to the market price".

Does this have any relevance good or bad for the share

can anyone enlighten me on this one?

Mathew
I set a price at 294 and it was not taken so I have no position. Also I am not going to chase the price down!
Good advice, thanks

closure of bootsphoto.com may have had adverse effect on share price today

Is TBI getting a bit oversold ? Their revenues will drop as air passenger numbers drop and they are in dispute with EZJ over Luton airport charges but ...
all in the price and more ??? Any thoughts ?
Large drop in Boot price ? Any adverse news I have missed ?

VOD starting to look toppy. Just can't hold or break the 145p significantly. Feel this will go down first when the markets retest lows.

Interesting to hear that the markets are 'possibly' beginning to show signs of bottoming activity. This doesn't preclude further falls, infact it is necessary but there are alot of charts out there which are showing classic signs of bottoms, esp in the banks where v.high volume and confirmation of morning star candle patterns is evident. Also in other sectors.

Plenty of people will have problems adapting to the mix trading mentality I think - I know I am and am also not going to be going long until I see further evidence of bottoming.
