Yeah Nelly. GENL holders not interested in price. It's more a stigmata thing by now!

Hi arab3,

To be honest I'm not the best person to ask when it comes to research on both companies.

Genel's field only has about 7 years production left, whereas GKP's has a lot longer life & more potential reserves wise. although Genel's oil is better quality.

Genel have a court case that is due to be heard in London in Feb if they win that the award could be multiple times the current share price given the $1.5B that was spent on the 2 fields in question.

GKP has bigger production net to the company than Genel & so has higher revenue & can in good times pay out much more money in dividends or share buy-backs.

Genel directors have much more cash invested in the company than the GKP ones do.

Hopefully other's will chip in with better answers than mine.

Good Luck

Shareho1der,

I'm only small fry, so not in the least worried about it.

Besides normally GENL & GKP kind of act in tandem & GKP usually moves first!

r88ave,

Well at this level its pretty close to the 52 week low of 74.4p yet its got here with there being a shortage of stock which is a really bizarre combination !

-----------------

I see the usual story applies again this morning Genel underperforming GKP yet again by 1% currently. Buy volume more than sell volume (GKP way more sells than buy's)

Maybe we nee way more sell volume than buy volume to get the share price up!

The divergence between Genel & GKP is stark.

Virtually everyday Genel's buy volume outweigh's the sell volume significantly & the closing auction happens close to or above the offer price.

GKP on the other hand has more sales volume than buy volume & the closing auction occurs at or below the bid price.

This has been going on for the last 2 weeks really & yet somehow GKP's share price is out performing Genel's over that period now!

Something has to change soon.

----------------------------------------------

MickinVest,

I do think OPEC+ will cut production considerably.

There is also sanctions enforcement on Russia / Iran to add in to the mix & the fact that ships are starting to be attacked in the Middle East (not oil tankers yet) & the growing signs of this awful conflict spreading.

Meaning a highly volatile situation is going to be with us for some time.

Getting oil transported to a point in the opposite direction of all this might be very useful

Hxxps://www.rudaw.net/english/kurdistan/171120231

I would say this is the key point of that article

"The Association of the Petroleum Industry of Kurdistan (APIKUR) said in a statement that discussions earlier this week between an Iraqi delegation headed by Oil Minister Hayyan Abdul-Ghani and Kurdish officials in Erbil “represent a potentially positive step toward resumption of full production and exports,” but warned that any addendums to their contracts should be agreed on by all parties - the federal government, the regional government, and the association. "

It will be interesting to see what develops over the weekend & in particular with any addendums !

------------------------

An interesting day regarding the share price !

Sadly No Holding RNS

They attempted to walk the share price down several times during the course of the day & didn't have much success with it.

Far too much demand & a lack of stock to achieve it, or even trigger stop-losses to help there cause.

Tuesday was the only day this week where sell volume was higher than buy volume.

They were trying to walk the share price down last night & are continuing to do so today as well.

But try buying over 5,000 shares and they want a hefty premium.

This is looking like mid October when the directors were buying up loads of shares & the share price movements didn't add up.

---------------------------------

Losses,

Given what happened all of a sudden last weekend, I doubt people will want to be caught out this weekend as it will be an even bigger scramble to get in if news breaks

Crazy share price reaction - GENL now cheaper than even GKP on an Enterprise Value/ Barrel basis - crazy crazy markets.

A tad disappointed as no bump up in Dividend, Share Buy Back or retirement of bonds - why pay $30mn per annum when cash building up... should buy back bonds in the open market and retire...
