Posted at 10/1/2024 09:17 by ddubzy Rising in anticipation of trading update next week. What a solid performer this share has been over the past 12months |
Posted at 19/12/2023 09:55 by careful Still a huge spread between buying and selling price.Often the case at the start of the day before volume sicks up. |
Posted at 18/12/2023 16:55 by careful GFRD went ex divi 7.5% nov 9. paid dec 8th.There seems to be something wrong with the closing price quote. It closed at around 230p but ADVFN quote 220p. It should correct itself tomorrow. |
Posted at 09/11/2023 10:04 by catabrit Yeah they probably should have provided colour on FCF, EV to EBIT multiple near and medium term. They gave scant detail and that is quite poor. Generally, if you have picked up a bargain you typically shout about it. If it is not a good price because of the quality or growth potential that is fine - but state that. |
Posted at 22/9/2023 11:31 by eigthwonder RNWH and GFRD have slightly different corporate DNA. RNWH's core is really a support service provider and much of their work although of a contractor type activity (using plant and machinery in the field) is actually tapping opex type budgets - projects within a financial year. Galliford is much more a contractor in the classic mould - taking on multi period capex work. That's why GFRD margin is in the 2's aiming for 3, and RNWH margin is in the 6's, and why GFRD have to have cash on the BS (but they have too much, i agree) but RNWH runs a more capital light model. Where they are similar is that both have a management team with an excellent approach to risk control |
Posted at 05/9/2023 09:12 by careful This enormous school concrete problem should result in more work than GFRD could handle.Good for business, it is an ill wind etc.... |
Posted at 16/8/2023 17:11 by willie99 GFRD have settled with the Scottish government. I wonder if this will affect the proposed special dividend. |
Posted at 14/7/2023 10:05 by catabrit I’m not sure I would want too many of those contracts to be honest albeit Morgan Sindall demonstrate that lots of smaller contracts can work if you price the risk accordingly. What was more important this week (at least from my perspective) was the news that they came off a road scheme which is now being re-tendered. I think they came off it because of rising costs so that demonstrates good discipline / risk management and that bodes well for shareholders. |
Posted at 08/6/2023 09:06 by careful Great potential here. Many investors still nervous about this sector because of its past history. GFRD well positioned to grow. |
Posted at 14/2/2020 09:17 by gbh2 Dr, I've have been on Hold and would have stayed there IF the Trend in Housing & Construction hadn't taken a sudden turn for the better, as you indicate above there appears to be a Government move towards a significant investment in these sectors.Admittedly yesterday's purchase increased my ave GFRD share price but it's still way below the current price and imo the Trend is up, that said most of this months spare cash went into TW on the 6th Feb @ 222p a share because for me GFRD is just a Punt until we have some solid information. |
